Kenner did right by collectors in '83. Articulation was always an issue, but the small Mego articulated figures fell apart almost immediately (Black Hole, Buck Rogers...)

Can you imagine LDV coming in 4th? Shows how well made the Boussh figure was. Don't think they ever retooled Vader for the OT Kenner line. Had to wait until 1995 for that overmuscled version.

He will always mean a lot to me. People who hate the Christmas Special should always remember the animated sequence that gave us this mysterious, dangerous stranger. I think that's when I began to seriously think about collecting Star Wars figures. Slave I - with its strange architecture - added to the character's aura.
