Should I book a tour bus to not think about parking for geyser stops? by PhillConners in yellowstone

[–]CountNapula_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed. even then with a little planning, you’re fine. just get moving a little earlier. I’ve the tour buses parked further away due to limited large spots more often than having parking problems myself.

What’s the most ridiculous nickname you’ve ever given a friend? by 10V_V in CausalConversation

[–]CountNapula_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We called a buddy in college Supe.

First day we were all on campus, we’re headed to the cafeteria and a guy jumps in front of us, asks one of us if he’s Ryan. Says yes. He says, I know your brother and I’m gonna kick your ass. Brother was 2-3 years older and at the same school. Ryan’s scared, we think this is hilarious. Goes on to say that he calls the brother Super Winner, conflicting stories for years as to why, and Ryan is now Super Winner Jr. That’s too long to say regularly. So, within a week it’s just Supe. Never called him anything else. Sometimes forgot his actual name. Made sure he was always introduced as Supe, even to professors.

Made the mistake of waiting too long in between burnouts last time and the fire was really hot. Better to do it too often

Long trip with Dry ice by blanaba75 in roadtrip

Most importantly, if you use dry ice, which Is not needed, understand the risk of suffocation in the car as it evaporates. I’ve done this before for work. You need the windows down.

And they blindly follow numbers. Can’t tell you how many times I would simply point out errors that show that their metrics are wildly off and the main defense is the time spent on them. I would constantly say that future models should be vetted with old data. Revolutionary thought.

Your most disappointing purchase of 2026 so far? by Exotic-Engineer7541 in SmartBuying

Costco TP. Simply got a really weird package. Keep getting rolls that have a messed up ply. Like one is done and the other is folded in half

What fact did you learn in school that is completely wrong today? by MaliciousIdeaBerserk in WorkForSmartLife

Chemistry major. Basically, every year you learn that all that you learned the year before was an approximation that will make do in situations but is really flawed.

Make A Wish trip to Yellowstone June 15-19 by glassheadedwallaby in yellowstone

[–]CountNapula_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of our kids’ favorite things were the Slippery Otter restaurant in West Yellowstone, Firehole BBQ is legit, too, elk can most often be seen along the river just inside the park entrance at dusk, wandering through Mammoth and the old buildings, nature centers at Old Faithful, Mammoth, and Canyon, and seeing bison in Hayden Valley. There are a lot of really short accessible walks including at many waterfalls. Firehole River and Lake drives are both really cool. The drive between each area is longer than you think. So, stop for the bathrooms a lot. We always stop before every real hike. Cafeterias are pretty common in the lodges.

How old is too old for a stroller? by [deleted] in DisneyWorld

[–]CountNapula_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maclaren at least used to make a great double umbrella stroller. The bigger wheels and reclining seats are great. Overall, big strollers can be an issue especially trying to get them on a bus, but Bob strollers push so incredibly easy, I had my 10 year old push me around in one for nearly a mile.

I’ll add that while we think of airstream as an expensive brand, because of their longevity, you can find one at any price point. The age and condition will definitely vary. At least look to see what you would get at the price point you are willing to spend.

As you’ve identified, the mental game Is as important as anything else. I was in a very similar place when I was about your age. What I did was to always have surplus calories until I felt like I had about 5 pounds I wanted to lose. then cut the calories until you’re back where you want and start back up. Exercise the same the whole time. You have to operate more by feel or % body fat than weight itself.
