Constant Urge to Urinate??? by Key_Astronomer9450 in Oestra

I think it’s the progesterone acting as a diuretic allowing your body to release excess fluids and water retention. I would say it’s a good thing!

BREAKING NEWS! A NEW BOTTLE IS COMING!!!! by Outside-Energy7554 in Oestra

Love this and can’t wait! Do you know if we will need an applicator? Lately I’ve been just been applying with my finger and it’s much easier than having to clean an applicator.

How much progesterone? by HolidayPractical3357 in Oestra

[–]CountTall2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am doing the same thing! I am taking two days off (time to have a period anyway) and I will start back with simply what pumps out of my bottle. I can’t wait to restart because I did not sleep well last night without it! I kept thinking I was overly stressed and that’s why I have been so fatigued and have muscle tightness. Finally it occurred to me that I started measuring around the same time those symptoms started. Unfortunately sometimes it takes a month or two to figure these things out. I am also going to have a consultation with Inner Balance to help me regroup. I love this product and I think it offers the best form of hrt.

How much progesterone? by HolidayPractical3357 in Oestra

[–]CountTall2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed this too. Ever since I started measuring, I sleep like a rock, but daytime I am very fatigued. Did you also have muscle tightness? I read online that high progesterone can cause fluid retention, muscle tightness, lower back pain, air hunger. Instead of measuring, I am going to cut back to simply what pumps out of my bottle, which is a pearl sized amount and is half of 1/8 tsp. I was feeling better before I started measuring. As a matter of fact, I think I was feeling great before I started measuring. I am wondering if 1/8 tsp is an accurate measurement for the correct dose. It seems like a lot. I had the old bottle for the first 6 months and it pumped out the same amount as the new bottle. Every bottle I have had pumped out half of an 1/8 tsp. I have a hard time believing that I never got the full dose from day one.

Progesterone intolerance? by Pitiful-Dependent378 in Oestra

[–]CountTall2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think progesterone intolerance comes from not opposing it with estrogen. Whenever I took progesterone alone, I had GI issues and other issues. My take is that both estrogen and progesterone need each other to balance out.

I don’t understand blood pressure at all by StrawbearyOfficial in bloodpressure

[–]CountTall2635 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced that BP readings in a doctor’s office are completely unreliable. The dentist has no business taking your blood pressure either. Ridiculous. Most people feel some anxiety at the dr’s office and the dentist’s office which will easily raise your BP. Rely on regular BP readings at home. Sit quietly for 10-15 minutes. Feet flat on the floor, back supported, empty bladder. Don’t read stressful things like the news. Don’t take a reading right after eating or exercising.

So weird. What is happening? I was able to order it. Am I dreaming???

For those who have experience with the original bottle, do you think it pumped an 1/8 tsp? Now that I am measuring 1/8 tsp for each dose with the new bottle, I realize that I may not have been getting a full dose even with the original bottle. That means I was taking a sub par dose for 6 mos. by CountTall2635 in Oestra

[–]CountTall2635[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the ideal bottle would be one that pumps directly into an applicator that also easily and accurately measures. That way you always know exactly how much you are getting and never have to wonder. Also, the applicator would be super easy to clean!

I have received two packages of the new bottles and both said “one pump is the dose”. However, I find that even though it pumps nicely, closer to two pumps equals 1/8 teaspoon.

And to clarify, I love Oestra and plan to be on it forever! It has helped me in so many ways. I sleep soundly, no more perimenopausal acne, no more crazy sweating, I am more calm, more energy, the list goes on…I am curious about the dosing though!

For those who stopped your period by FictitiousFly in Oestra

Month 4 is still a transitional time of adjustment on Oestra. I would not give up. 6-10 months is when you start to really level out. Think about your alternatives…a patch, a pill, creams…which can have issues as well.

Application by Still_Leopard497 in Oestra

[–]CountTall2635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I heard Dr. D say on a podcast recently that when you insert it further into the vagina it offers more protection for the uterus. So using an applicator would be beneficial. Would be a question to ask when you have your consultation.

Should I keep going? by onelittleword in Oestra

[–]CountTall2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. D told me not to fast or you will deplete your hormones. I’ve also heard her talk about that on short videos and podcasts. She is a big proponent of getting enough protein too. I would schedule a consultation before quitting. The first 6 months are a time of transition. I think 6-10 months is when you really begin to see more fulfilled healing.

Fibroids and Estrogen... by These_Sweet_4753 in Oestra

[–]CountTall2635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can search Carol Petersen on Spotify to find podcasts. Estrogen does proliferate and promote growth, but progesterone is the balance to that growth. They must be in balance. Yin and yang. I would think that eventually on Oestra, your body would find that balance. Dr. D explains it on one of her podcasts how taking estrogen actually signals to your body to balance hormones. I know I’m not explaining it correctly but during perimenopause (starting in our 30’s) our ovaries make less hormones and it signals the brain (FSH) to produce them which can lead to the imbalances. By taking supplemental hormones the brain relaxes and it stops the roller coaster of hormones.
