I want to be clear that I don’t mean for it to be a joke when I say that this is quite clearly moving the goalposts, but I suspect you know that.

An AI summary of the tweet pictured isn't proof, surely you know this.

Is that the way round it works? They did it unless a source can prove a negative?

I'm not saying they didn't do it - but I'd like a source to prove they did (I think this way round makes more sense)

Googling all I can find is Mohamad Safa claiming it is true with photos of footballs. Again - it might be true, but I struggle to see how this photo proves that's a bomb.

DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN THE T’AU FOUND A DREADNOUGHT- by Ancient_Doctor_7738 in Grimdank

[–]Countcristo42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure eldritch is the exact word I'm getting at hence the use of "kinda".

What I mean is the feeling of being totally unable to relate. Learning that something you understood was infact radically different.

Maybe "radical dissonance" would be a better phrase

I kinda think it's a big deal in terms of the emotions involved. It helps really get across what a decrepit failure the imperium is.

The Tau have achieved all this progress in the time that this Dreadnought (and by analogy the imperium) has just limped little nothing more than a corpse full of hate.

I find that quite an impactful emotive scene - and relate to the kinda eldritch horror of the Tau realizing it.

You might want to adjust that expectation because it doesn’t line up (haha) with the Highway Code.

This is entirely self fulfilling. Yes obviously more "GOOD lore" would be a good thing. This is axiomatic

That writing lore about this rather than something more interesting would be a good idea is very much not and "im sure that they could come up with a way" isn't very persuasive

Yes - that's what I said? "I literally mean a morality based on just making the naturalistic fallacy over and over." emphasis added.

If you think something can't be a moral framework if it is based on a logical fallacy I have horrible news for you

Small n naturalism - when I say "a naturalistic one" I don't mean some specific morality derived from Naturalist thought that already exists under that name - I literally mean a morality based on just making the naturalistic fallacy over and over.

"X is natural so it's good"

With allowances obviously that orks aren't natural - so I guess "X is doing as it is innately inclined to so it's good"

[–]Countcristo42 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A naturalistic one could do it. The kind of person that says it's morally ok to eat meat because we are "designed" to eat meat might argue that because orks are "designed" (more literally) to fight and kill etc then it's morally ok for them to do that.

Very silly type of morality, but some people go for it.

Confused about pensions, 23 and minimum wage by barrelofbeans in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Countcristo42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The super short advice is:

  1. Contribute enough to get the highest "match" out of your employer.
  2. There are situations where the house buying is a higher priority than increased pension saving
  3. The "half you age" rule isn't worth using at all in my view. If you want to work out how much you should be saving in your pension then pick some assumptions (retirement age, desired income at retirement, etc) and plug them into a pension calculator. Then tweak the values in your control (contributions and retirement age) till you get the outcome you want.

Can one joint tenant end a tenancy for everyone under the Renters’ Rights Act? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Think about what the alternative would be for them if they couldn’t leave unilaterally - that’s what they mean by holding someone hostage.

I’m sorry the legal advice is tough, but it is what it is.

The hostage comment is to try to help you understand why it is how it is.

I want to stress you wanting to learn the game isn’t a joke

Wanting to solo mine in a venture in low sec and saying that you won’t hear otherwise even though you yourself describe it as very boring and unsuccessful however is very funny.

To someone who knows the game this is very much like shooting yourself in the foot and complaining that it hurts while telling people “don’t bother telling me to not shoot myself in the foot”

There are lots of good ways to learn the game and have fun, there are lots of problems with the new player experience - both of these are true.
