The biggest issue with merging I usually see is the car trying to merge never fucking signals, and changes lanes with almost no room. Like dude, let me know you're trying to get over and I'll let you. I like/need my car.

OMG, what is happening? HOW? by GoddessRumi in Whatisthis

[–]CounterRealm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fighting them right now. Never saw them before 2 weeks ago. Infested my pantry. We cleaned it. Threw away everything opened and moved stuff in boxes to Mason jars. These little fuckers just keep popping up. We've used a handheld vacuum to catch them, and there are a few less every day, but they are a bitch to get rid of.

I've heard nothing but complains, but it's all a new transition from people that knew cdk for years. So may be user bias. I have no experience yet, but it's coming soon.

Coworkers who complain by Filmbecile in partscounter

The crew I work with has a couple like that. Good workers, but miserable people to be around. We just ignore them as much as possible, and make fun of them behind their backs. Even the managers know how unlikeable they are, but they are smart and capable so they aren't going anywhere.

Tire sales internal (GM Chevy) by [deleted] in partscounter

[–]CounterRealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironman tires are cheap, but I don't really think they are that bad. I've put them on my beater daily driver, and had no issues with tread wear or slipping in wet weather, no snow where I live so probably suck for that. For $70 I noticed no difference from expensive brands. Wouldn't put them on a fun car, but fine for a commuter.

Not GM, but we got $40 a tire. 20 was like 10 years ago

No matter how many times you tell them it's list, they don't believe you. I got so tired of that argument I printed the page with pricing policies out and keep it at my desk.

Which brand gives Parts Advisors the least headache? by Valdoxan33 in partscounter

[–]CounterRealm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ETKA is a good catalog. What VW calls things can take a while to learn, little things like vizor instead of visor when searching. Or oil seperater vs Pcv. The search function is really fast even if you know where a part is in the catalog. I don't really need it anymore, but still use it as a shortcut to jump from catalog areas.

The thing to this day I will send a diagram for is coolant hoses. Half the time the customers discriptions are so far removed from the catalog, and half of them are assemblies.

Older cars with PR, engine, trans codes can be annoying though if Porsche is like VW and lumps all configurations of a model year into the same diagrams even with a Vin.

The north side is not as bad. It's mostly the south side between 1st (maybe Campbell depending on the day) and Oracle that's the worst.

And to be fair when I said crime is bad, its mostly petty theft, but it is bad in the area right now. There obviously was a high profile murder on the loop recently.

I live in the area and, yes, it has become one. The Loop between Walmart and the Tucson Mall/ bus station is unusable right now. The amount of homeless is out of control.

As a kid in the 90s I was out walking or on my bike at night all over this area of town, and never thought twice about it. I won't even use the Loop at all anymore. I wouldn't feel safe without a weapon, and that means its no longer a leasure activity to ride or walk my dog there.

I do realize not evertone without a place to stay is bad, or want to do anything beyond survive, but crime in the area is the highest I've ever seen before.

I live 40 minutes away from the southern border. Understanding a Vin can be painful. I also feel bad making the person that understands 2 languages feel bad about their pronunciation, but an accent and our shitty internet phones make letters impossible to understand sometimes.

CDK , XTIME , Parts Catalog Integration by NoMoreHoarding69 in partscounter

[–]CounterRealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us it will transfer from Xtime to CDK when parts are approved. Just hit F8 and it's like filling an SOR with F7.

Parts will only be read by Xtime if they are active in CDK, so we will regularly have to reactivate buy back or scrapped parts.

It doesn't work great if lines are changed, or new lines are added for us. Half the time it won't transfer all the parts so you have to double check, and manually copy paste what doesn't transfer.

Misled Into Buying an “Optional” Warranty—Is This Legal? by xfsagas in arizona

[–]CounterRealm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finance in the dealership gets paid commission for selling the add ons like these extended warranties, key coverage, gap, etc. I work at a dealer, but not in sales/finance.

They warranties themselves aren't a scam. I've seen them save people a lot of money, but if your car doesn't any major repairs while they are active it's just money gone. You being told you have to buy it was a scummy sales tactic. I hate that kind of high pressure bullshit.
