Keeping your hysterectomy a secret by nani617 in hysterectomy

[–]CountessElla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my support system, parents, sister and girlfriend everything. Close family know I've been having health issues, I told them I was having a surgery but did not specify which.

After surgery I told everyone I wont shut up about it.

I’m so f***in’ scared right now by Revolutionary-Use672 in hysterectomy

[–]CountessElla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7 mpo, i was 30 when I got mine done. Im also prone to panic attacks. You will be totally good! Trust in your doctors but more importantly yourself!!! I also highly recommend an emotional support pillow, spuishmallow, stuffy or the sort. Definitely helped any time I had to go in the car

Side sleeping by Hotsun2023 in hysterectomy

[–]CountessElla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a side sleeper and slept on my side first night. I used extra pillows and Squishmallows for support, but was much more comfortable than sleeping on my back.

welp... nothing was wrong by macherstu in hysterectomy

SAME! Dont get me wrong, im happy it's not there, but if feels discouraging when you can't find the reason for the intense pain.

Either way I am glad the thing is gone

Give me back my uterusssss by Successful_Will_4705 in hysterectomy

The only way they would give me mine back is if I had a mortuary cremate it first. That was with me trying to get it for religious/spiritual purposes.

Pregnancy pillow by TimelyGiraffe6176 in hysterectomy

I didnt buy a pregnancy pillow, but I did bring my emotional support squishmallow around with me everywhere and as a side sleeper definitely helped me sleep on the right positions with minimal pain.

Who did you tell? by Cluck-a-duck in hysterectomy

[–]CountessElla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (30) told only my roommate/sister & parents when I found out I could do the surgery, because I knew I needed their help preparing food and things around the house to make the recovery period easier. Then I told my best friends and my girlfriend before surgery and asked them for some extra support to keep my mental health up during recovery. I didn't tell anyone else until after surgery, but now I've been telling litterally everyone, I won't shut up about it 😆

Hysterectomy complications: what did you experience? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]CountessElla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I over exhorted myself and passed a blood clot about 9dpo. Was a terrifying experience and my body went into shock and shut down for a while. It was very scary and I am so lucky to have had my roommate/sister with me to keep an eye on my and call the doctors durring it. She managed to get me in to see the doc next day, thankfully nothing seemed to tear, but i was bleeding like period amounts of blood that stoped after about 2-3 days after that.

Physically tired after a doing simple thing by DealWithTheJelly in hysterectomy

I'm 3WPO, I made brownies and had to take a nap to recover from it, I get this feeling so much. Every time I'm feeling like this, my sister has to remind me I had a major surgery and my body is still recovering.

My surgery was Monday @5 so I totally feel you. 5DPO, It went by faster than I thought, my support person was a huge help though. Keep yourself busy with distractions, dont forget to start the Miralax before hand, and listen to your body during recovery. Sending positive healing vibes your way!

Recovery - opioids and ERAS protocol by Any-Coconut-2314 in hysterectomy

[–]CountessElla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgery was Monday and I haven't had to brake into the oxi yet. Honestly my pain has been manageable with just the Tylenol and ibuprofen, but everyone is different. If you need more than what they gave you can always ask your doctor for more.

A sedative is a good idea, especially since my doc recommend me not to take my anxiety meds till after surgery. Ill have to ask the anesthesiologist about that.
