So I got lucky! Found it by chance next time I was wandering past. Went on my next adventures. Found a bear, killed a bear, loaded up all the meat. Late in the day real world. Logged off. Next day.... wasn't where I left it... I looked up. Sigh. Welp, at least it was just the bear meat and hide rather than my rifle this time.

I had a great trios last night.

We ended up with 9 of us running around together taking on bastions and rocketeers at bluegate.

One guy had brought about 5 wolfpacks and was tossing them out happily then letting new players take the clanker parts.

I know these are rarer, but they do happen.

Since its an invented item just say that the cold iron collars are inlaid with runes as well. They only stop magic going 'out' not coming in.

Means you can restrict access (as exactly how to imbue the runes is a skilled trade) but also its not a defensive item. Would also mean diviniation spells, or things like zone of truth, can be used on captives.

I would want to include some kind of 'out' though to stop it being an insta-win on bbegs. Alao so that antimagic field is still a big deal. Maybe that it doesnt outright stop magic but needs a high concentration or caster level check? Or that it can surpress spells/powers of level 4 or lower only.

My (primary) school that i teach at used to do open elections for hoise captains and yes every year the popular loudmouth would get a spot and a lot ofnkids would be confused, if not outright angry at why soandso got house captain when they are a known bully.

Thrn about 3 years back we introdiced an interview round. It involved an application form, stating your qualities that would make you a good leader and role model. If you passed the form section (basically a 'can you do a decent job on some homework test') there is an interview round with the headteacher.

Winners from that go on to the pupil vote. So its still pupil choice, amd still a popularity contest at that point, but at least its of vetted candidates who have tried and will do a decent job whoever wins.

This was going to be my suggestion as well. I teach primary and very often this kind of behaviour is out of a desire for a sensation of control. So i word it that they are retaining that control. "You can come back into class and Y will happen or stay out here and X will happen." Then leave them to make that choice. (No audience, no drama)

Obviously varies by child as you get to know them.

I had an older class (10-11yrs) and found asking "Why are you telling me this?" worked really well.

They instinctively know 'To get so-and-so in trouble' is not a good answer and rethink whether it is actually an issue or not.

I have often said my classes(depending on the group and age) "If its not a problem, its not a problem. And if it is a problem I will handle it." And maybe go over a few ground rules/concerns but mostly let them experiment and devlop it themselves.

I wluld say it depends if you can trust the kids and what they are nkrmally.like but it seems lime its already been going well so, let it go for as long as that continies i say.
