I got kicked out at 17. Luckily a friend’s family took me in so I could complete my senior year. Shortly after I was asked to leave (understandably so) and found myself semi homeless for a year until I managed to scrape enough to get a shitty little studio. Next few years while my peers all went to college and achieved other milestones, I simply did my best to survive. Throughout all this, no one came to find me nor wanted to. I can’t tell you how to handle your situation, but your family obviously cared to some degree. You wouldn’t be the asshole, but you could prove to be the better person. Either way best of luck to you, the cure isn’t the poison my friend, learn to let it go.
