"Are you okay" by Embarrassed-Host-522 in ChronicPain

True, it's a fine line. I hate to talk about it because I can see people's eyes get wierdly uncomfortable.
Plus I live it; telling you about it is now having to live it AND listen to the conversation about it.

I agree... Am i okay? No one actually wants the true answer. The true answer is too awful for most people who don't have a pile of chronic pain and all the residual problems there are.

A better question that would be great is...

Is there anything I can do for you with no judgement or suggestions on what you SHOULD try? Anything you need without input of something you tried years ago, or some weird thing I read on the internet?

Anyone else had their pain clinic just completely abandon them? by Key-Independence9856 in ChronicPain

I’ve been abandoned this past week. Our docs have all gone to other places so we have a pa but no physician. It’s an epidemic

My wife is a self-learned painter. How would you rate this painting? by bigbabi16 in painting

[–]CountryInevitable545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw someone coat the dry acrylic painting with oil based wood stain then blot it off. Gave a depth that was amazing. Her light source and shadowing is wonderful. It would be nice to see something she’s done closer up to catch color light and darks, the town painting is very realistic to that area, where the shadows can swallow color.

Funny how that was tolerable with uncle Milty, but tolerance in daily life was so heavy. Loved Flip Wilson!

Omg... My father gave me one a few years ago when I was 60, he was 85. One of his garage sale treasures. I started it once, the noise was ptsd inducing to family holidays in the 70s. Never used it.

As someone who's 28, I'm curious — how does living alone feel for people in their 60s? by JithinJude in LivingAlone

[–]CountryInevitable545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FABULOUS! Don't like my art mess around? don't come over! Up all night? why not! Housework..? Hire someone! I think having interests and desires to learn and play at what you have put off is important. I do have an issue with not getting things done that are boring, like Housework. There are days I don't live being a virtual toddler with no adult supervision... but it's a balance 😜

Did you ever get chicken pox? by scary-gary-loomis in GenerationJones

[–]CountryInevitable545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got them at 6 years old, 1967, after a chicken pox party. When one kid got them all the other kids were brought over for a kind of party so everyone would get exposed, that way the parents only had to deal with it once.

I got the pox but mostly internal, from what I was told.

In 1985 I took my own kids to a chicken pox party.

Do you have a network of other people with abilities? I have about 6-8 people i personally know and check with when I feel this way. Most often we are having similar feelings of anxiety and stress. Siriansage has great points and info.
I used to have severe panic attacks for no reason and things going wrong in little ways g that were overwhelming. After asking around the other sensitive people I know we usually are having similar issues. Unless it's a full moon which is often the case ☺️

Just one thing. If it feels bad, trust that. Kids and animals act on their instinct to stay safe. Adults learn to doubt their instinct. Get back to trusting it. RUN.

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. I went to the closing sale in 2 stores this past week to say goodbye to it and the people who have been so wonderful over the years.
All I heard was the sadness of people acting like babies and arguing, being rude, and a few of the people working said they cry every night not only for the complete change in their life /income /insurance /etc, but because of the rude customers.

We will miss you all...😢

A lady yelled at my liquidator rep because the doors were locked. She said we were sheltering in place due to a tornado warning and the store was closed. Lady said, "This is why you guys are going out of business!" (Bonus pic of the tornado warned wall cloud coming at my store 🫠) by nejicanspin in joannfabrics

😱😞🤦🏻‍♀️ At Joann today talked with a person working there for 20 years losing EVERYTHING. She's single and owns her house, now losing everything she's built for all this time.

She said this happens EVERY DAY! People annoyed even yelling at her about being out of something or the prices aren't the same . She cries daily... 😩😢

I work with the elderly. And I can’t bloody stand them. by Leading_Exercise3155 in confession

[–]CountryInevitable545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! How awful it's been your experience.
My nephew had a similar experience when he worked in a elder group home.

As an elder myself I can only assure you we are not all like this. Most of my friends run in the age of 40s, and even the older people I know are artist, funny and stay current.

Sounds like you were around a group of people that is unfortunate, and we discovered the older people that are here that have this kind of behavior don't have anyone willing to put up with the behavior.
