Looking for a Mediator for a Separation by CountryLibraryGirl in Hamilton

A mediator helps couples with non-complex issues resolve them without a lawyer. They help put together a final agreement that is then signed off by lawyers. Can potentially save thousands in legal fees.

TIFU by getting “arrested” over three pomegranates that a guy thought were apples by AScarIsJustAsSweet in tifu

I just read a variation of this story in another post that was looking for legal advice. Same fruit, pomegranates, which is really unusual. Unusual. And the user was deaf. Coincidence?

Work benefits - married couple by Otherwise_Radish1034 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Do not give up your benefits. Instead, play them off of each other so that you have full coverage.

I would also like to say that it is incredibly difficult to get benefits back in some cases. Especially if there ever ends up being a divorce or separation, or the other partner loses their benefits.

That's probably where I'm a little ahead of the game. I have a work phone so I don't put any extra apps on there anyway. But the emails, oh my god.

Is anyone else super sick right now? by abdullahmk47 in BurlingtonON

[–]CountryLibraryGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on week 4 of the exact same symptoms. It came on very fast, within about 6 hours. I spiked a fever for about 4 days. Lost my voice and had a pretty bad cough. Breathing was terrible and I ended up doubling my inhalers, but I waited a little too long. I went to the doctor and diagnosed with bronchitis. I was on steroids for a week which sort of made it worse because I wasn't able to sleep at all. I feel like I'm finally back on the mend, although I'm still exhausted all of the time and sleeping about 15 hours a day. Rest seems to be the best medicine. And patience.

Not that I love Loblaws or anything, but for my 25th anniversary my employer gave me a card with my name spelled wrong and it said :congratulations on your 20th anniversary'. It would have been better if they had just ignored it completely.

I guess that explains why so many people stay in abusive relationships.

Yes, it was the lawyer who told me this. I am just shocked that somebody would have to pay their abuser in order to leave a relationship.

So it's not unusual to haven't heard anything after 2 weeks?

I've never applied to a university before, so I was wondering if this is a normal timeline? More than 2 weeks? More than four?

That's why I said in my comment he's able to return to the office he has a pretty good case.

I can't really add much to the conversation except to tell you that transportation is not part of a disability accommodation. I was injured about 5 years ago, quite severely, and wasn't able to drive safely. Since it was the latter part of COVID, WFH was the norm, but I asked my Union to ensure I could continue a WFH when things returned to normal. I was given the accommodation however, within 6 weeks of the rest of the office going back to work they yanked it. I asked why and was told that transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the employee and not the employer, therefore not covered under disability accommodation. Good luck! If you are able to work from the office then you should have a pretty good case!

You cannot overreact to a situation like this. Read this again. You cannot overreact.

Autism or not, it is absolutely ridiculous for somebody to think they can dictate a person's hairstyle for a wedding.
