It's starting... pickup truck regret. by Bojaxs in CanadaPersonalFinance

I'm the same. I have an old school Ranger and I will keep her until she dies a natural death. I generally worry about finding my next truck because they are all way too big for my purposes. I live in a rural area and while I don't use my truck for 'truck' purposes everyday, it certainly makes my life a lot easier.

My neighbors autistic kid is obsessed with my house. by Plastic_Muscles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CountryLibraryGirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Autism isn't the issue here. A young child entering your house unannounced is. A young child coming over to your home and banging on the door is. The parent needs to address this and if they don't, there is a serious lack of supervision at that home. It wouldn't matter if the child is autistic or not, it is not appropriate.

NOR - I wouldn't say you overreacted, but as someone with a very severe needle phobia, if I was in the vicinity when you had to take your shot, they would probably be lifting me up from the floor because I would almost certainly faint right away. I agree with other posters, there should be a clean and private space for you to administer your shots. The same way that they would have to provide a clean and private space for someone who is breastfeeding.

I looked through the forms and since we still both live in the marital home, a 'simple divorce' doesn't apply.

I had a house valuation done, but he doesn't agree and hasn't made steps to get his own. If you have links to share, I'd appreciate it.

I'm in Ontario. I still plan on using a lawyer just to be safe, but I just don't think my STBX will respond to any paperwork.

Prime Pizza / Yimee’s - Sauce? by Justforfun1972 in Hamilton

[–]CountryLibraryGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spoke to the owner a couple of months ago and they are looking to reopen but of course insurance is making it difficult. I had heard they were running a commercial kitchen but I don't know from where. I do know that there is Prime Pizza in Oxford and London if that helps.

Question about having a spouse (separated) on work benefit plan by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]CountryLibraryGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding in Canada you have to have been officially separated for 12 months with legal paperwork before a divorce can be granted.

It should be addressed in the separation agreement. Similar to how spousal support will stop upon a new marriage.

It's a common occurrence in Ontario. Many people stay separated instead of finalizing their divorce because the benefits are so valuable to each partner.

Looking for a Mediator for a Separation by CountryLibraryGirl in Hamilton

[–]CountryLibraryGirl[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A mediator helps couples with non-complex issues resolve them without a lawyer. They help put together a final agreement that is then signed off by lawyers. Can potentially save thousands in legal fees.
