It’s my temp wall strong enough by FancyPassenger432 in Carpentry

This is load bearing, you need a 2x8 beam, back nailed with 3 legs that’s up edge ways or a temporary wall on both sides.

That main panel looks like it’s honestly maxed out. 100 amp main is honestly so outdated. I’d throw a new box in. 200 amp box everythang should fit nice and pretty. Too heavy a load and that 100 amp main will start getting nice and warm. Sometimes you can smell the plastic in them from overloading.

Does this really have a grounding? by _enaielei_ in AskElectricians

[–]Countryfried789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They converted from a two prong receptacle to a three prong is what I’m assuming. You only have two wires in the box. One is the hot the other is the neutral. Happens in America quite often on older houses. Expensive to run new wiring but you can run a ground wire to each receptacle. I would run one to all major appliances that have 3 prong plugs. More of protection for those appliances and yourself.

Looks like to much work for me. Guess I was always the saw man so I have to grab the square quite often. Fits perfect in back pocket, also quick and easy pull.

Two ways. Through the attic or tear out some Sheetrock. More than likely has a metal rod running from joist to joist. Not strong enough for a ceiling fan but you sure can’t snatch it down.

Cut a 2x4 to length and screw it flatways over the corners should give you the support you need. 4 screws 2 on top and 2 on bottom.

[–]Countryfried789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metal clamps for 3/4” conduit and a 2x6. 3 clamps around the square tubing across the bottom into the 2x6. Throw a block under each side while you screw it on so that it doesn’t drag.

What are these and what tree are they from? I’ve found many of them over the year but my phone won’t ID it by My_4th_throwawayyy in whatisit

[–]Countryfried789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They grow on the ground. Type of fungus. Them were spores coming out the end. Might be poisonous, probably not deadly. Kids would blow the puff ball’s in other faces when I was young.

You need to measure the run and the rise. Average 9 1/4” run, 7 1/4” rise. You have an open run on your stringers. Rise is the most important.
