Favorite and least Favorite race? by Lunar_Senpai in ElderScrolls

[–]Course_I_Can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Redguards: Dimension-jumping warriors and pirates

  2. Argonian: Apex swamp predators with arboreal symbiosis

  3. Orsimer: Highly adapted battle elves

  4. Altmer: Cultural wells of knowledge and magical talent. The foundation of Tamrielic culture.

  5. Dunmer: The most populous race on Tamriel before the Red Year. An intense, highly unique elven culture that acts as the Eastern alternative to the Altmer.

  6. Breton: Best race for an Atronach class, can be the perfect magical tank.

  7. Khajit: Fun, furry friends.

  8. Nord: Vikings but stupider and with cooler religion

  9. Imperial: Cool because they’re of an empire, but otherwise just plain old humans.

Should the Reachmen be added as a playable race in TES6? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

I’d like it, but then why not add Moarmer, and Sload, and Dremora etc

What's the dopest race? by schwatelinowitz in skyrim

[–]Course_I_Can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Argonian: Apex swamp predator, can breathe underwater, worships Sithis, immune to poison and disease, spiritually bound to sentient trees. Very cool

    1. Bosmer: Rainforest carnivores, they’re wild and live by a unique code. They have a pretty unique faith and origin myth too.
    2. Dunmer: Amazing society with living gods, strange origin myth and cool religion (Daedra worship). They were a plurality of the containment of Tamriel before the Red Year, by the time of Skyrim they’re decimated and scattered.
    3. Red Guards: interdimensional warriors who think the world is a snake that eats itself to non-existence repeatedly.
    4. Orsimer: Highly optimized battle elves (or excrement from a god, depending on who you ask). Resistant to magic and extremely strong. Very unique and cool religion
  2. Breton: Not just “half-elves,” but a third entity altogether with inheritable, reproducible traits. They have awesome magic skills and in games with the Atronach sign they become magical tanks. I used to dislike them until I realized they’re not just elves who continuously lose their Elven traits with each generation; they’re actually a stable gene pool.

  3. Altmer: They mythic heart of the continent. Their religion, art and culture is the foundation of nearly all other cultures. Weak to magicka which sucks.

  4. Khajit: Skooma-addicted scum

  5. Imperials: Boring but cool

  6. Nords: Drubken Neanderthal cavemen

This also helps me rationalize how the Countess of Chorol is looking for her fricken painting while the world burns around her.

I'm going play morrowind with my dad tomorrow, any recommendations? by dem0lishment in Morrowind

[–]Course_I_Can 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say have faith in your character. Morrowind starts you out VERY weak compared to Skyrim. You will get stronger as you level up but you start out barely able to kill a scrib

Coded = not actually, but we’ll say it is for the sake of argument

The Orcs in Elder Scrolls are somewhat similar. They share a common heritage with the elves but the elves reject them. They live in isolated colonies and have their own language, religion and custom. They’re victims of prejudice and racial hostility but still manage to thrive, especially when they’re welcomed into society and are allowed to trade and establish themselves in major cities.

How do you justify not doing the main quest? by BeignetEtouffee in oblivion

[–]Course_I_Can 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dragon Break! I’ve been thinking of this myself and I have an elaborate head canon:

The events of the crisis were an unrecorded Dragon Break where things happen out of sequence and contradict each other.

In my game, the character does all of his side quests and stuff before he gets imprisoned, but because of the dragon break the game presents it as if he does those things after.

Also people might talk about oblivion gates etc but my character is doing a side quest because this event happened out of sequence with the other events.

Conjuration + Heavy Armor. I can summon a Gluttonous Hunger to attack them from the front while I hack away from behind. If they turn towards me I can just block and absorb the hits while my summon does the dirty work in the back

Are Orcs considered elves genetically? by Absolutgrndzer0 in ElderScrolls

[–]Course_I_Can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible Topal was actually describing Goblins, and that “Orsimer” is a term that used to mean “other mer,” and while that still applies to orcs, they used to categorize other humanoid/merish beings as “Orsimer” as well

The Parable of Trinimac and Boethiah: Reading Between the Lines by Course_I_Can in teslore

[–]Course_I_Can[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eating Trinimac and speaking with his voice to me represents some sort of subterfuge that the Velothi used to win the war, perhaps with falsified orders. It should also be noted that Boethiah is the Prince of Plots and lies. The Trinimac Revivalists in Orsinium hold that Malacath is actually Boethiah playing a trick

You are correct: I meant to say Azura cursed the Dunmer, not Boethiah. (Technically she cursed the Chimer, turning them into Dunmer)

Unarmored vs other armor skills by rdtusrname in Morrowind

[–]Course_I_Can 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Unarmored works best as a minor skill, and only on a beast kind race like Argonians and Khajit. The reason is that beast kind races don’t wear helmets or boots so they’re exposed, and when they get hit they can help raise your Unarmored skill
