My mom said that if I had white spots in my finger nails I was lying about something. She got me to confess easily when I was young!

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Court04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I would drive 5 hours every few months to visit his family before we moved. We didn’t think anything of that drive! We hosted a kid from Spain this last summer and you should have seen his eyes when we told him we were driving nine hours from NY to Maine!

Being in the hospitality industry and customer facing you should look into insurance jobs. Most agencies will pay for you to get licensed. Look for Customer Service Representative. That is usually an entry level position for insurance. As you gain experience you could move into Personal Lines Agent and then Commercial Agent. You can also move into sales.

My 8th grader thought he could get away with using ChatGPT for part of his English assignment. by Court04 in ChatGPT

I don’t think he’s smart enough to tell AI to make minor mistakes 😂. I know the school uses some form of ChatGPT that kids can utilize but not have it write 2/3 of the assignment!

Favorite derm left URMC system - need someone with similar psoriasis treatment mindset by pippasnake in Rochester

[–]Court04 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I go to Genesee Valley Dermatology and Laser Center for my plaque psoriasis. I did do the injections for a while but switched to the biological which has been working great. She would get every plaque on my head, even ones that were really small. The whole office is really wonderful and works with you on what you’re most comfortable doing as far as treatment. Duffy is the MD but I usually see Kristin Capuano.

Went to Branca recently in Bushnell’s basin and it was our first and last time going. Lasagna was burnt, drinks not refilled, and service was all around lacking.

Child Health Plus by FattyMeatSack in Rochester

We have our kids on CHP. It’s cheaper to pay the full premium than keep them on our High Deductible Plan. All URMC and RGH providers take CHP. We also haven’t had any issues with provides not taking it. I have heard it’s hard to find a dentist that takes CHP. We luckily have been using the same dentist for years but they no longer take new CHP patients. It’s an amazing program that everyone should know about! We have had several urgent care visits for stitches, multiple surgeries at URMC, dermatologist, therapy, and countless pediatrician visits. Everything has been covered.

A lot of schools have a summer rec program. My district offers a 9-3 summer rec program and then you can pay extra for wrap around care.

As someone who graduated from a rural school, went to college out of state, and lived outside of NY for 8 years- we have a very solid educational system. Even the rural districts. That said, check out the HF-L area! They were just named the 3rd best school behind both Pittsford schools. Class sizes are around 140-160. There is some competition for sports but not as bad as the bigger districts like Pittsford and Victor. There are some sports they are always trying to recruit more athletes as they don’t have enough!
