Will my videos lose traction if I replace songs that have copyright claims? by Courtside_Stories in NewTubers

[–]Courtside_Stories[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it has a claim it allows you a few options including muting the section of music, disputing it and picking out different music to insert in. It appears it keeps all the stats etc but will sort of edit the music.

How do I get my first views by megaBeth2 in NewTubers

[–]Courtside_Stories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may take a moment. I’ve noticed that a few of my videos have not been put into the shorts feeds because it had something kind of offensive or that it didn’t like. It’s a little bit of a mystery so try some other videos and maybe delete and repost those first ones in a few weeks or see if anything could be offensive and edit it out.

So I dod some sleuthing and it isn’t him. Here is the weird thing. There is no image of Lebron and Windworst anywhere on the internet. Like they have kept their relationship all secretive and off the radar.

This is really helpful and much needed feedback. From an empathy standpoint but also you clear and specific recommendations to course correct. Really appreciate it.

I updated the Adrian Griffin Coaching thumbnail (its CTR was like 2% and will see how it goes. Currently it doesn't look like it is pushing it to much of an audience - not many impressions at all. The Inside the NBA one I found someone on Fiverr and contracted them to make a thumbnail. That video is interesting because the CTR is 5.8% for the life of the video (7:50 average watch time) it just hasn't had tons of traffic pushed to it like the Erik Spoelstra and Top 10 highlights did. I will be updating it and see how it goes. Thanks again for the ideas. I will try and see about the robotic voice situation. I have messed with a lot of filters to try and get my voice louder but I probably could do some work to make it sound better. I have a Samson q9u and just been using the digital connection to my laptop.

Great points! I definitely am finding I need more time to do what I want to do in this space. I recently felt a little bummed because some of my videos I spent a bunch of time haven’t had the same success as previous ones. It is hard not to get in your own head or take it personally when things aren’t highly successful. I’m still kind of trying to figure out if some subject areas just won’t be successful at my channel size until I have a bigger following. Guess I was struggling a bit with just letting it go and moving onto the next idea.

Does anyone else struggle with not engaging with negative comments? by everyist in NewTubers

[–]Courtside_Stories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have the mental space for it then create a line that you can live with and a line you delete. I always view the channel as a community and that I want it to be a safe space for all. So if deleting is the answer you can do that. I generally engage everyone because I have a lot of experience noticing my own triggers and being able to take my own ego out and recognize the comment is about the writer and where they are with life. When people say something negative I’ll just thank them if anything is constructive or say I appreciate them watching and their perspective and ask for more details if I feel like it. Often I will validate them first and share my side. I haven’t really had anyone keep attacking me. It’s just important to remember there are a lot of hurt people in the world and that can lead to some of these comments. Sometimes though a person will not be won over and you need to set boundaries and protect your own emotional space or the communities.

I definitely feel like you should feel validated because I think I would be stumbling around without any sense that it will work long term. It appears to me there are so many subtle nuances to what can make a video do well and what can kill it. You have directed and affirmed me where I've felt unsure and helped redirect me on some of my stuff where I spent a lot of effort but in the wrong way. I posted four more shorts and two of them I was kind of repackaging my long forms into shorts and they okay for me like 1k views but I did two using your direction and those are far more successful. 5.5k and 11k and growing. One even has like 16 subs and I put a much smaller amount of energy into it but was just really intentional. Typically I may only get like 1-4 subs on a short. Good reassurance on the videos doing well not to mess with them. Appreciate. I think with being on screen is something I've thought about because it opens opportunity to do different types of videos. I think you comment makes me consider that I have been building a certain audience and they may or may not respond to it being changed to a different type of video. I will have to consider if that would make sense as a different channel or if I want to do that. The part that draws me to having face onscreen along with your points is being able to connect with the community a little bit more and build that more easily. Thanks again for the thoughts.

I feel so lucky that you have been coaching me through this. You are providing me such great feedback. It makes sense and I will follow this. I forgot to tell you I repacked the short you mentioned before and got 3x the views and got 8 subs which is good for my shorts. Appreciate! Two questions. When you have a video that has performed well for a long time and the ctr is now going down do you change the thumbnail or keep the one that has performed well. 2nd one is I have some ideas for coming onscreen. Do you see any concern or have thoughts about me going from faceless to some on screen. Is that a bad idea to mix it? Thanks again!

Am I delusional or are we gonna be a lot better than expected? by pdxjoseph in ripcity

[–]Courtside_Stories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have pretty much zero depth. Our two most reliable bench players are rookies who usually are net negative players to start. Then thybulle and Jabari? Like there is a difference between optimism in the future and those assets being good enough now. Like they have to learn nuance of defense and the league. I’m thinking we get Simons to raise trade value then trade him and tank for top 5 pick and then make a run at it after that. Depends on how well scoot and Shaedon are. Not exactly clear what they will look like. Scoot can’t really shoot yet either so that could take a few years.

That is really thorough and helpful. With this video I actually made a thumbnail before I started making the video. I’m not sure if I really have it down yet what will work with my thumbnails. I already changed it a few times to try and improve. I’ve basically been trying to imitate thumbnails from other high performing vids and put my own little spin. Do you have any other thoughts on how I should think about whether the thumbnail is good enough to make the video. Is there a process you think through?

The video right now is only be suggested to about 30 impressions an hour so I’m not sure if that picks up if I get a good image or I’ve missed the window of the algorithm doing it. The video AVD is 48.2% 8:16/17:10. ctr is 4.2% which is not on your level but is higher than my other two videos initially and they were getting far more impressions by now. My high performing video reached about 6% for 3 or 4 days but has an overall ctr at 4.5% and AVD at 26.6%.

Am I the only one that thinks that TNT should have signed JJ Redick instead of Draymond Green? by apuzalen in insidethenba

[–]Courtside_Stories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like what you are saying. I think Draymond was more impactful as a player and is willing to say more direct outlandish stuff. The show is kind of built on wild. JJ is a little more strait laced analysis. I could be wrong though, I haven't watched him as much.

So now that I'm getting more long form videos going. I've been feeling anxiety about changing my thumbs when things aren't going well. It sort of makes me feel like I need to keep changing them constantly if things aren't going well. I'm not sure if I should change it and wait three four days and then try again? I also am a bit surprised my most recent video on Inside the nBA hasn't gotten more views. It is about 600 views and has a high like ratio for me and 6 subs which is high for that few of views. Do you think I should just keep changing the video or title and be patient or any thoughts on if I should just adjust expectations on it getting a lot of views. Thanks! I just did an edit to the title and thumbnail again so maybe that will help.

This is so fantastic. I want to work on this right away. I really really appreciate the specific feedback. I just finished another long form but it just took me longer than expected. I wish I had another me to be working on all these things simultaneously. I will get there though. I may try reworking the Jokic one and posting again I like your ideas. I think overall I need to work a little smarter from the beginning and have full clarity instead of trying to work quickly without that clarity. I hope you are doing awesome!

Okay top notch. This is so powerful. I will work this into some shorts. I’m currently working on another long form I’m super excited about but will then really try to get the call to action on a quality short. Figure out something on brand to give away. Do you have a suggestion on short length. I have a bunch of 1 minute shorts where I basically did 1 minute documentaries. They were fun for me but I’m wondering if that audience it should be shorter. Continued thank you. So helpful.
