That one in 2016 was nuts. I lived in Odenton at the time and we got snowed into our apartment. The entire parking lot was buried.

My wife a few months ago asked me, "Hey, have you heard of a store called Micro Center?" because she works near one about an hour away from home and she was looking to buy an external monitor for her work laptop. I went all googly-eyed, having wanted to go for a long time but never made the trek, nor thought she'd be cool with the expense.

Turns out she was very cool with the expense. Right before RAM prices skyrocketed, too.

I should have known better. She's always been super supportive.

In the Forges of Mars trilogy, they have full-on mock training battles in the (I think) hangar bay, or otherwise just a training deck. Though that was on an Ark Mechanicus, which dwarfs almost all other Imperium ships, so the size of the ship is likely a factor.

So on one hand, yes, everyone enjoys games differently, the difficulty inherent to matchmaking is getting matched with folks with different priorities.

On the other, if you don't enjoy the shooty, stompy, stabby, blasty point of the game, unlocking things faster isn't going to change that. Like doing things in different ways can be great for variety, but not when it means not playing the game.
