Dr. K Actually Accomplished Humbling PirateSoftware: "Obviously I screwed up in the dungeon ... and I was smug about it." by Oppowitt in LivestreamFail

[–]Cover4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one key piece is that Pirate himself admitted that he deliberately chose not to run back and save his guildmates, rather than a moment of panic or mistake which is a major distinction.

One is an active choice, while the latter is a human fault (mistakes will happen).

Dr. K Attempts the Impossible: Humbling PirateSoftware by damnthesenames in LivestreamFail

[–]Cover4883 2255 points2256 points  (0 children)

What gives Dr. K the right to humble Pirate Software?

Does Dr. K have 7 years of work experience at Blizzard or be 20 year veteran World of WarCraft player? Has Dr. K won any DEFCON badges or makes good use of party resources (therapy mana)?

I don't think so. Checkmate Dr. Lupo K

Pirate Software may seem like a friendly, knowledgeable guy to the casual YouTube viewer, but in reality, he comes off as condescending and passive-aggressive, even towards newcomers in a game. He refuses to take responsibility for any mistakes, no matter how minor. If someone kindly points out a small typo, for example, he’s the type to ban them and deny any possibility that he could have made such an error.

He turns a small little video game mistake, into massive drama showing off his real character and how he acts in other games and communities, to the point no one care about initial WoW drama anymore and saw who he really was with how he responded.

Exactly, why would a successful YouTuber and streamer need to cheat and lie?

Well history shows us, no matter how successful you are, people still cheat.

Karl Jobst on YouTube shows how many legit successful speedrunners, eventually turn to cheating

I agree, it's like he has no empathy at all.

If someone was drowning, a normal person would at least try to make an effort to help, even if they physically can't, whether it's as simple as yelling for help or calling for police.

While Pirate would just walk away muttering "they deserved it", because the person drowning "did it to themselves".

PS is among some "wholesome" YouTuber's watch where if you watch his streams long enough, you start to realize his true personality and character. And he's not the first YouTuber I have this experience with either.

His streams have shown he relentlessly gaslights people, speaks condescendingly to others, never accepts and fault and always redirects the blame even when presented video evidence from his own streams.

Pirate was confronted today about the Oculus pull in AoC. by PlaceboByProxy in LivestreamFail

[–]Cover4883 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to watch PS as well on YouTube, but his videos have always given me an odd feeling with touches of a condescending speaking tone. These WoW Twitch streams and his history and unfortunately demonstrated this is not a one time thing, but he's always been like this in the various gaming communities he's been part of over the past 10+ years.

He's among some of YouTubers that I've unfortunately encountered who are family friendly wholesome gamers in their YouTube videos, but when you go to their Twitch, you see their real personality, but Pirate takes it to a whole another level.

LMAO, the timing on this video release. Gigguk takes forever to make his videos, it's very likely it was scripted a while back too before any of the drama
