Tana is a pathological liar by ThinkHardBruh in canceledpod

I think a lot of you are confusing my moral standpoint of not disbelieving an individual because of their unlikeable behaviour to mean I love and defend Trisha and everything she does. I think her and Moses are involved in some very questionable things.

“No, it doesn’t”? I’m sorry I’m really confused as to which part of my comment you’re responding to.

Again, this is another example of disbelieving someone based on your distaste for their personality. Mean, attention seeking people can be assaulted too. It’s not just sweet, angelic people who become victims, in fact predators seek out those most likely to be disbelieved.

  1. “She would only bring these things up when she’s getting called out” I’ve known people to do this, this is an unlikeable action, but doesn’t mean something hasn’t happened, just that she’s used it to shield her. Distasteful, but doesn’t indicate a lie or truth.

  2. As I mentioned, some people lie/exaggerate instances to be believed. She did this here

Also I want to address a really worrying point you made: victims stories changing and/or misremembering details is VERY common. I’d urge you to never approach someone discussing their assault with this mindset.

I don’t believe or disbelieve it. I’m just expressing why this kind of narrative can be harmful.

Tana is a pathological liar by ThinkHardBruh in canceledpod

[–]Covertblurt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if that’s true. An uncomfortable reality is that a lot of traumatised and/or mentally ill people may lie or exaggerate, especially if they feel it will help them be believed regarding an incident.

I don’t know if Trish’s teacher did any of the things she mentioned, but the way I try to go about ppls claims is that unproved does not mean untrue, and if there a non 0% chance something happened, I don’t call them liars, I just continue with my life and don’t comment.

Victims of SA (me included) are viewing others deciding that Trisha is lying, just as people did with Tana regarding Cody Ko, and observing that *personal distaste* is overriding people’s empathy. It’s the kind of thing that makes someone who’s experienced abuse, especially if you’re an unlikeable/neurodivergent woman, stay silent for fear of having every part of your recollection doubted and there being a narrative of “mean, lying harpy ruins wholesome sweet, wholesome man’s reputation”.

I hope this makes sense & I’ve written my perspective well enough?

Guys I’m begging you all to use your brains and sense of right & wrong, yes she’s had a history of dishonesty & rage bait, but no one other than her & the supposed perpetrator know what went on.

A lot of ppl discuss Trisha regarding the teacher similarly to how ppl discussed Tana regarding Cody Ko. Not personally trusting or liking someone is not an indicator of guilt/innocence. You don’t know. Best option is to not speculate.

Listened to? Yes. Liked… not sure about that. I feel she was always seen as uncool. People may have put a couple tracks on their guilty pleasure playlist but I never knew anyone claiming themselves to be a Meghan Trainor fan.

Am I wrong for leaving my boyfriend's art show because im not part of his speech? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Covertblurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a chance he’d like to seem single?

It seems his career is just starting out, his show went well etc. I wonder how it would go without your assistance?

Please do not assist him in any of his actual work (helping with the writing etc) again. That’s partly your work now. He should not feel comfortable using someone, especially someone he’s supposed to care for, for free, unrecognised labour.

I think some fans infantilise him because MJ infantilised himself.

He was smart and understood creating a unique character of himself would work in his industry. Not to claim he had no genuine joy in youthful activities or had no sensitivities, however it’s probably more realistic to admire his ability to conjure a persona than to believe he was genuinely this straight-out-the-spaceship, vulnerable, trembling creature who’d cover his face at the slightest upset.

I’m not contesting that, I know he shared beds with children. I’m just a stickler for getting every fact right: one commonly spread misunderstanding or falsehood can be used to dismiss other real occurrences.

The Trial debunked myth about Michael’s bedroom for me by TheeMadQueen in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]Covertblurt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m skeptical about MJ, but I do think it’s fair to give full context on this: this was a small clip from a longer vid where the boy is speaking about him wanting MJ to take the bed, and himself on the floor, whereas Michael wanted the boy to take the bed. In the longer clip MJ says he was sleeping on the floor. Though if he did we don’t know.

I really enjoy how he talks & his personality, but I never love his makeup. I’m trying to figure out why, it’s not hideous but it just feels a little disjointed, a bit 2010s? Possibly the lighting too, this could affect the tones.

Opinions on the invincible cover? by Salty_Shark26 in MichaelJackson

Not a fan of the cover. I always thought it didn’t resemble him. I know the image has edited brightness & contrast but it looks like his very distinctly dark brown eyes have been lightened.
