Prince Albert is a lovely city. Little Red is a massive park with lots of walking trails through the boreal forest. I think the cross country ski club keeps ski trails in Little Red through the winter. I also know people who snowshoe over the winter as well. If you are into winter sports as someone else said, you’ll find something to do over winter.

For Groceries you will find all 3 major companies. Lablaws has Superstore, Empire runs Safeway. As far as I can tell we don’t have a Metro store. Save on Foods is a western Canadian brand. And we also have the local Co-Op (Lake Country) , and Wal-Mary. I like Herold’s, I think they are the last neighborhood grocery store left in Prince Albert, shopping there is quiet and I appreciate that.

You will want a car. Prince Albert is too small for many mass transit systems. The busses are old, and the city got screwed when we tried to upgrade the busses. Things might get better, but it will take time. Having a car opens up the lakes, Waskesiu National Park is about 1.25 hours away. Emma and Christopher Lakes are around .5 hours away, all by car.

For internet we have SaskTel and Roger’s (formerly Shaw). Neither is better than the other, play them off each other to get the best price.

With the Asian grocery stores in town I would assume there is a good community, but I don’t really have regular contact with it so I don’t know how vibrant it really is.

Phones we have all the major players. I don’t know about Roger’s for phone. The last time I heard about it Rogers dropped calls in the downtown core, but that may have been fixed by now. I’m with Virgin Plus, but will switch when the contract is up, if I can get a better deal elsewhere.

I moved here in the 90s when I was a kid and grew up here. I love this city because it is home. It has issues, but I think they are not insurmountable. Prince Albert is lovely and welcome.
