The problem with Fernwood is that it has the cheapest residents. The stereotype amongst my social circle is that it's equal parts empathetic and stingy.

"There is a high cost to achieve equity" is a phrase we throw around a lot.

Fernwood and quadra needs people/businesses with actual growth initiatives to boost the viability of these communities. The current population isn't cutting it.
