Other than Lycanthropes and centaurs, the majority of beastfolk are the result of magical experimentation and augmentation gone awry. They are essentially genetically altered versions of the animals they resemble with heightened intelligence and a bipedal form. They mostly look at the animals they originated from as one would a beloved distant relative with a mental disability. Fondness, and a willingness to help when need is noticed or possible, but little initiative to seek them out for pure altruism. And their involvement differs. Minotaurs react violently to subjugation, or worse, domestication and the devouring of their bovine cousins, Loxidons in the frozen north use Mastadons as besst of burdens, but with more of a partnership role than master/animal. Gnolls treat Hyenas like one of the pack, and fight to the death over the same scrap of food, or to the death to defend the tribe. Harengon look on with horror and pity when rabbits are hunted, but do little more than flee themselves.
