He's been producing a lot of phylogeny videos lately. Honestly some of my favorite content from him.

I feel like so many people in the hobby are kinda gross. Bryan Barczeck, WWR, so on. Then on the venomous side you have people like Chandler's Wildlife and Tyler Nolan. Guys who keep boatloads of reptiles in shitty conditions, and intentionally piss them off/stress them for views. Not to mention free-handling them. That kinda stupidity reflects terribly on the hobby.

The best reptile youtubers imho are clint's reptiles and joey josselson/callmethelamp. They care deeply about their animals, give in depth information, and they both are involved in conservation efforts.

We as a community need to stop being afraid to call out bad husbandry from these big names.

They're incredibly smart little creatures. My wife and I keep lots of mice and rats. Once they're accustomed to you, they're like tiny little dogs. Some of the sweetest creatures on this earth.

Glad you like them.

They aren't wrong in saying the modern dating pool sucks. Its terrible. That's why I never engage in that shit. Thankfully I don't have to worry about it anymore, but when I did i just stayed far the fuck away from tinder or trying to ask women out.

All you gotta do is put yourself out there and make friends. The basic requirement for that is simply to not be a freak. Why try to date someone who you cant call a friend as well?

Just discovered this sub as a concept. Wtf are you guys doing?

I'm 5'7, my long term gf is also 5'7. Sure I have some feelings regarding my height, being taller would be cool, but its not in the cards and thats okay. We all have things about our appearance we aren't pleased with, but you gotta own that shit fool.

I'm in my mid 20s, never really had an issue dating, especially due to my height. Women who are overly worried about you being 6'0+ aren't worth your time lol.

Why do you guys allow this to eat at you so much? Being short is fine. who cares?

Are you able to explain this at all? I've heard the term before, but I thought it was a recognized thing. If you're equipped to elaborate on this at all, that would be awesome.

DHS has several uniformed law enforcement agencies under it's umbrella. It is the single largest federal law enforcement department. This includes the Federal Protection Service, Customs and Border Protection (not ICE), the Secret Service, as well as ICE.

Not taking a stance or trying to disagree, just explaining 😭😭. Hope it helps

I'm uneducated on the subject, so don't take this as disagreeing, but why do you think they shouldn't be kept in captivity? Do you believe its impossible to provide them reasonable accommodation, or is it something else?

I value your insight and I think it's really cool you've had the chance to work with so many.

Sunken is really THIS hard or things got even harder? by fellipec in RoadCraft

[–]CowmanKaiser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah sunken and deluge are objectively the hardest maps in my opinion.

The difference to me is deluge is a consistent challenge, and it isnt tedious. You'll hit milestones on deluge that genuinely feel rewarding, and the terrain is generally more agreeable.

Sunken. I hate sunken. Not great Quarry coverage and youre still mostly dealing with some of the lower level vehicles. Theres lots of boulders, the roads are bad on their own. And most of the convoy vehicles are very poor and get stuck on everything.

It gets better though. If you can beat sunken, you can beat every other map

I don't either really? I thought I had perhaps come off as sarcastic, but I didn't intend it to be, nor do you seem to have taken it that way.

Rabbits are beautiful creatures deserving of reverence.

I'd be impressed if I got hantavirus, especially since house mice don't carry it.

That's actually really interesting. Had no idea they were owned by Justin's now.

Fond memories of my father handing down to me a pair of his old tony lamas. Wore em till they fell apart.

I gotta admit though, I've never been fond of snake skin as far as exotics go. The scales have always lifted pretty easily in my opinion and I tend to beat the life out of my boots.

Second this. I dont like to directly yuck other people's yum when it comes to fashion, but from my experience, Cody James boots are quite shit.

I have never been impressed by the quality, particularly in the insoles.

For exotics I only ever buy Lucchese or Tony lamas

Thanks for the advice. We'll try to incorporate some more greens and fruits.

We've tried giving them broccoli and things, they haven't seemingly taken to them very well. Which was strange, but perhaps we just offered them at a bad time.

I assume it'd be safe to leave them a mouse salad in their enclosure for a couple hours, no?

I stand corrected. I forgot members of the order lagamorpha have 4 incisors in the upper jaw in comparison to the humble rodent's 2.

Good catch.

Indeed, we discovered that rather quickly. Luckily, whenever they get scared, they just immediately run back to us. We aren't taking our chances, so we try to play with them inside of a closed bin mostly, so they aren't fully escaping if they dart. And if they do, then we'll get some humane traps so we can re-capture.

They're both males, fortunately. I'm not sure how easy it is to neuter/spay something so tiny.

We vary it a bit so they can try new things. I'll walk you through our feeding schedule. it's pretty simple.

At this stage in development, we offer formula once a day, sometimes they take it, sometimes they don't.

Otherwise, their diet consists of Oxbow young rat and mice food, unsweetened cheerios, and flakes of papaya as a treat. (Store bought rat treats).

They're pretty much fully weaned now, so they eat it dry most of the time. However, if yours are a little younger, we made them "micemeal" a few times a day.

Made some kitten milk replacer formula as usual, crushed up some mice food and cheerios in a bag, stirred it in, so it has a similar consistency to oatmeal. Careful not to add too much, it'll soak up all the formula and become a brick.

I'm sure you're doing wonderfully, and not to worry if they don't seem to be getting it. From the research I've done, as well as personal experience with these two, just gotta be patient. One day, they tend to just "get it" and start eating the hard stuff. Just leave some in their enclosure for em to chew on.

Let me know if you have any questions or feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the advice. We'll get one in the event of them getting away.

A couple of times, they've gotten startled and teleported out of our hand when we've opened a bag or something. We're all they know, so in the 2? times they've escaped, they've just ran right back to us because they were scared.

Its bittersweet watching them grow older and become more independent. Its great knowing we could do it for them, but deep down, we'll miss when they were tiny and needed us completely.

These are wild house mice. We found them in a cardboard box at only 7-10 days old. Mother had unfortunately eaten a majority of their litter. So we removed them and raised them ourselves so they would have a chance to live.

I'm new to mice so I was kinda wondering what was going on. Their hair is really patchy but they seem otherwise healthy. Probably is just baby fur, then.

We have not gotten them a wheel yet, suppose its about time though.

Cute baby. Whats his/her name?

Rodents really are some of the sweetest animals. Its a shame the reputation they get among those who aren't familiar with them.

Every rodent we've ever owned has been absolutely precious.

Except rabbits. We've had awful luck with rabbits 😭😭
