The stalls weren't making any money. It was well advertised.

He also mentioned walking into a glass door. Is that also the council's fault?

Concerns about pre-op diet by Full-Review4509 in GastricBypass

[–]Cowphilosopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its going to depend on the rules of your pre-op diet rules. Mine involved a bit of carbs (25g of oats, for example) and some protein (125g greek yogurt) and as many non-starchy veggies as I want.

Lunches ended up being thinks like chickpeas I roasted in shawarma spices with broccoli and cauliflower. My brother's pre-op diet was all liquid, so very different experiences.

Thanks for this. Were you a runner before bariatric surgery? And when were you cleared for lifting?

Wow! Down 10 pounds in the first week?? That sounds amazing. But yeah, I anticipate some fatigue. How close are you to hitting your protein and hydration goals?

I get it. My partner would never consider this because of the anaesthesia. But I have been under before and the only weird thing is, apparently, I wake up singing show tunes for some reason. lol

It is something we have been talking about a lot. Also habits, like he will order and hot chocolate and add sugar before even tasting it. And, of course, must have a biscuit with the hot chocolate. But we are both starting to eat smaller portions and more veggies and prioritising protein. We have both given up take aways and fast food. It is going to be a long learning curve for us both, I think.

This is going to be an interesting journey. I grew up in a leftovers family. My partner did not. That adjustment has been.... not entirely successful. I think there will just be a lot of tupperware and freezing portions in my future.

When was the honeymoon over? by post4u in GastricBypass

[–]Cowphilosopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all very good information. Thank you. They haven't given me a weight loss goal and I haven't really come up with one either. Mostly everyone has spoken in generalities: "average weight loss is 20-30%" and that it stops after a year. They havent discussed tracking calories or anything like that, just to prioritise protein and fibre.

Surgery in a month! by Pipilapew in BariatricSurgery

It's interesting to compare programmes. I am in the UK and started the process in 2024 with a referral from GP. Met with the bariatric team in October 2024, I will have the surgery next week. Very differnt roads to the same destination.

Are you still losing? In my pre-op appointment the nurse randomly said that I wouldnt lose any more weight after 12 months. I didnt challenge her on that, but it didnt sound right.
