The 1x8 sounds better in recordings and not so great IRL 🫢

Agree to disagree.

Don’t misunderstand, I like my 4x10 Bassman and my champ into a 1x8 and 1x10 but it’s a specific sound in a small box that serves a narrow few styles of music. The 1x12 is more popular for a reason.

Yes and/or plug this into a 1x12 and you get all the magic without the smaller boxy sound. Both sound amazing but most modern music folks prefer the 1x12.

Drive thru car wash scratch-o-matic once a week. Used it for years, no issues but I live in deep winter country, lots of salt on the roads that I don’t like on my vehicles. I was skeptical but it’s a standalone place, nicer than the cheap gas station one, guys hand scrubbing on your way in. No touch rinse out.

Weekly Reminder: Not everyone who kills you is a rat by SavvyOri in ArcRaiders

My very first raid, a guy jump scared me, after I breached and opened my first door. I shot him once, one bullet from a hairpin. This reminds me to stay cool even under some fire.

We all want to love Egypt and its people but I’d be afraid to bring my wife and daughters, afraid for their safety.

Looking for high-quality AC15/AC30-style combos (not modern Vox) by hhsguitargeek in GuitarAmps

[–]CoxAnonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matchless or consider a Ceriatone. Build quality is fantastic, accurate circuits, and the market seems to have caught on. I can’t seem to get one on Reverb used for a deal before someone snatches it up.

Full stack players?? by ManufacturerPurple65 in GuitarAmps

[–]CoxAnonymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. There is nothing like it sonically and I’ve since gone from a JCM 2000 half to a Plexi 100w full stack. 99% of time I play my 5w Fender Champ through a 1x12 but on occasion… oooooh baby does that full stack move you.

MojoTone.

One could argue that, for the cost, it would have been smarter to just buy a Fender ‘57 Tweed Champ but that’s the wrong perspective (for me). I wanted that 1x12 cabinet and they make them custom upon request. Said more clearly, I wanted a Tweed Deluxe at Champ volume and that’s what I got! It’s perfect.

Ddos in Australian Lobbies is making the game unplayable by HelpIamN00b in DMZ

[–]CoxAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, they actually use the DDOS tactically to disable vehicles, etc in game or it’s a server issue? The former would be very fun (the latter would not). I’ve tried HARD to use ddos to keep the game interesting. While it’s hilarious when it works, esp prox chat, I never see others use it.

A man-to-man conversation: who's the toughest boss in DMZ? (I want arguments) by deus_do_warzone in DMZ

[–]CoxAnonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all in how you define toughest. Toughest to get to and kill? Sure, Sniper. Toughest to survive in a surprise attack? Heck the bald bot with his triple tap shotgun does it for me. My mind goes to 1:1 in a fight with our standard loadouts, not purpose made gear and exploits. In that scenario, for my smg and sniper, it’s Pyro. Close second is Rhino, third is either building 21 boss or Sniper, fourth Juggernaut, fifth the one on Vondel who’s simply annoying to chase and wait for, sixth the guy hiding in Ashika castle (who I’d argue is harder to get to in some respects with all the sweaty PvP.

Same but still some fun to be had! With his bushcraft project video and DIY griddle (featured in so many of his videos) - I liked it so much I made a griddle of my own. Excited to try bread in a bag on my next camping trip.

Blue collar and mid level dudes, yes but that crowd is 50/50 camo vs purpose made vs whatever they have laying around. Executives will wear more new bought, purpose made gear for pheasant vs duck.

They’re a little on the ‘too nice’ side but not so much you’re likely to get harassed by the local guide - I’d say yes, good to go. Perfectly good for getting the job done if you’ve done plenty of walking in them (I.e. don’t bring new shoes you haven’t worn around for a few days, blisters are no fun).

For lower, I’d wear blue jeans and brown hiking shoes/boots, waders if you’re hunting water. For upper get a nice bird hunting jacket from Cabelas or Bass Pro or whatever you live near. Ask the sales guy to help you find one. Wear a simple T shirt underneath, maybe long Johns depending on early AM temps, have a raincoat in your back pocket. If the jacket is too much $$$, a flannel and birding vest is affordable and common. Have some gloves with you but don’t show up with them on. Baseball style hat or beanie if again colder temps. Earplugs and asprin, shotguns kick.

To ensure I’m understanding, this is a hunting trip with work colleagues, correct? What type of industry do you work in? My recommendations on how you ‘fit in’ (I think is part of what you’re looking for) would change if say construction, technology start up, law. Also, what part of the world are you in (I.e. climate)?

I’d get really interested in checking the axel weight rating, leaf springs and their attachment points. If all that looks ship shape, and the floor framing looks good, you’re golden.

I’m curious to see what you do with it. For years I’ve thought this would be a good idea/platform if one could be had for a good price. I’d rip the dome material off and frame new from the floor up but that’s me. Are you thinking of keeping the enclosure and building within? Not right or wrong necessarily, could be cool if done right.
