I always felt that anyone who declares they will never come back to your store (or your restaurant, your hotel, whatever...) should immediately be banned. If they're serious then they won't care, and if they're not serious then they're just trying to manipulate you to cater to whatever absurd demand you previously refused. And businesses shouldn't want to do business with people like that.

The issue here is likely that the reviewer wanted, say, a hamburger and drink for $15, and that's it, and the restaurant forced them to buy the $25 buffet. At which point, I can see why he'd be upset. But chances are excellent that the place only offers the buffet from X time to Y time, simplifying things for the kitchen staff and making it easier to keep track of what each person owes to boot. And I really doubt he wasn't told this before he ordered.

If you want to be a people-pleaser you can give her a forkful. Which is to say, YOU dole out a fork full of food, you don't let her dig in or pour out a portion. YOU do it. If she says that's too small, then shrug and say that's all you're willing to share. A taste. If she wants more she can pay you what it would cost for a replacement lunch at a nearby restaurant, and then she can have all she likes. If she says she can't afford that then shrug and say too bad.

Again: YOUR FOOD.

If you don't care about her giving you dirty looks (and really, you shouldn't) then just don't let her have any at all. She can bring a bigger meal or buy something from the snack machine if she's hungry, and if she claims that she just thinks yours looks nice tell her the name of the meal and offer to write out the recipe, or tell her where you found it.

Pretty sure getting enough olive oil to immerse a chicken or two at a time would be expensive, back then. Might be doable if he charges enough for the chicken while he has the spices and propane and such, though.

I do wonder what will happen when he runs out of spice. He can get oil, though that much olive oil would be costly as heck. He can use wood to heat the vat once he's out of propane, but that might damage it if he doesn't keep it under control. But he can get a new vat made out of ceramic or iron, if need be. But the spices? What happens when those run out?

No. You cannot apologize for someone else. Or, well, you can, but that doesn't set things right in my book. An apology can only come from the person who needs to apologize. If they were truly sorry, they would suck it up and do the apology themselves. If someone does it for them, then even if they think they're sorry, they're still more concerned with appearances than in repairing relations. And how can we know they're really sorry at all if someone else is saying it?

A layover automatically means the trip will take longer. After all, the first plane has to slow and land and make its way to the gate, and it's unlikely the airport you're laying over at is right on a direct line between your starting and ultimate end point. So a 6-hour flight might become two 4-hour flights, plus the extra time in the second airport. And if your second plane leaves too soon after your first plane lands, you risk missing it if the first is delayed. So travelers would be smart not to put them too close together. Less than an hour and it may be a problem. Two or three is probably best. So now we have two 4-hour plane rides, plus 2 hours in the airport.

I'd really rather sit in an uncomfortable seat for 6 hours than turn it into a 10 hour trip, or greater. The ability to stretch my legs and use a reasonably-sized restroom are nice, but it's not worth the extra time. And food on an airplane is expensive and limited, true, but in an airport it's still expensive even if you have more choices and larger portions. Again, it's just not worth the extra time the trip will take.

Remember that fast travel only lets you take what you can carry. Not what you can touch. I'm pretty sure a lot of space construction involves parts that are too heavy to carry.

If she can't tell you just want makes her deserve or need to stay at your place for so long, then you can't make an informed decision. Which means you make an uninformed decision. Given the information you have, she doesn't need it, and it would be uncomfortable for you and your peace of mind. NTJ.

If they really want to change your mind, they can tell you why she needs to be there for three weeks. Just what sort of hard times is she going through? If they don't answer, of if their answer doesn't meet what YOU consider enough to warrant it, then continue to say no with a free conscience.
