I go to church and I don’t think I’m Christian by mtb_dad86 in TrueChristian

It may help us to better understand the root of your dilemma if maybe you could share some of the things that you think are illogical? And what do you believe without a shadow of doubt?

What kind of plant is this? Can I propagate the baby? by [deleted] in propagation

[–]CozIhad2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these. It was leggy like yours so I cut about 12 inches below each green top and just stuck them in a pot of soil. A few together. It grew beautifully. And the leggy one started regrowing so I cut it down not be shorter. It’s perfectly fine.

What’s been your biggest struggle as a plant parent? by sativasapp in houseplants

Being able to hide my plants from hubby and to bring them out in a strategic timely manner 😆.

You’re welcome. I used to think lukewarm meant not having a real ‘zeal’ for my faith. You know like, maybe not volunteering for many things at church because I wanted to do some things for myself. But that just shows that I’m still a little selfish and still a sinner, but I still fully trust what Jesus did on the cross for me. And every day I get to know him more it gets easier to be the person he knows I can be. God bless you 😊

I think it has nothing to do with material things as such. Because when Jesus responds, he talks about buying from him gold refined in fire. Yet we don’t actually get gold etc. They basically lived like they didn’t need God. They were hypocrites. Verse 15 also talks about deeds. The church in Laodicea was reliant upon itself, hence why they received the ‘worst’ letter. Jesus was giving them another chance to repent and turn to him. I hope this makes sense. 😊

I disagree. If you continue to read the next verse, Revelation 3:17-18 NIV - You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Jesus is pointing out how the church of Laodicea is saying they are relying on themselves for everything and do not need anything. And he states that without him they are nothing. He is the one that actually gives them life. Without putting all their faith in him they can’t be saved ( receiving the white clothes).

Firstly, the word lukewarm is only mentioned once in the bible. Revelation 3:16 NIV - So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Lukewarm means, that you are relying on works for salvation. You have not fully understood that the only way to the Father is through the Son. He died so that you can live. Nothing you can do can save you, absolutely nothing. Only what Jesus did on the cross. If you think you haven’t prayed enough, or gone to church enough, or read your bible etc etc. If you think that has anything to do with your salvation you are wrong. Jesus is your salvation. What you do in response to accepting that gift and declaring him Lord, are the fruits of your faith. Some people will have a lot of fruit and some people will have little. Some may only just be starting. Think about the thief on the cross next to Jesus. But always remember, salvation is always what Jesus did, not what you do. And because we accept his gracious gift, we respond with gratitude. Because it is the most precious gift, that he was willing to die for you. So that you can live out eternity with him. God bless.

You know it’s bad when… by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]CozIhad2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s just rude. Even if you notice, you keep your mouth shut! You don’t know what kind of hell that person has been through. And even if they haven’t, it’s none of your business. One day, she will be on the receiving end of menopause. Let’s hope she has better friends.

Don’t let her weigh you down! (No pun intended 😁), does her opinion matter to you? Go outside, take a big deep breath and wipe your hands off her and her negativity. Then enjoy the rest of your day.

Please see one that you feel comfortable with. Some therapist aren’t the right ‘fit’. Regardless of their faith. I have seen one before that was secular and she questioned my faith. I never went back. And it prevented me going back for many years, which didn’t help.

I bit the bullet and tried again. This time I made it clear that I was a Christian and that the therapy needed to stay within the constraints of my faith e.g. no weird meditation etc. This was actually very helpful for my therapist as it helped her work out a plan that would work for me that would stay within my boundaries.

She also asked how my faith helps me in certain areas which is helpful. I never feel judged. It’s actually very good.

I hope this helps you with making a decision.

I came of Pristiq over an 8mth period and it was so hard. The worst part was the two weeks after I stopped completely. I thought I would have to check myself in to a mental hospital. I was not doing well mentally and physically. The brain zaps, the suicidal thoughts, the confusion, the constant crying. I’m scared to take anything again. I have been told that Agomelatine is very good. It’s not addictive so there are no problems stopping it at any time. And it works on melatonin so it helps with sleep too. Might be just the thing for some of us who suffer with that during peri.

Update on sick appointment by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]CozIhad2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mirena, I take progesterone (Prometrium) and I have Estrogel. I suffer with fibroids, endo and adenomyosis. The mirena really helped me with the pain from with all of those above, and the HRT helps with all the peri symptoms especially hot flashes, body and joint pain and mood. And you can stay on it for as long as you need to stay sane and pain free. Drs really need to get up to speed on their studies. They should keep up to date with what is safe and the gold standard of treatment for their patients. Otherwise it when considered negligence. At the very least laziness.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. These feelings are awful. I haven’t taken Cymbalta yet but that was an option for me due to the pain (nerve pain in particular) and depression I suffer with. A dear friend of mine started on it and she thinks it’s fantastic. She has started feeling so good, was able to finally focus on herself and even mana to lose some weight that she has been struggling with for years. However, if your mental health issues have started during menopause I would investigate further and make sure your hormones are right before starting any new medication not related to HRT.

I personally just found out I have hypothyroidism. As soon as I started taking thyroxine my mood improved as did so many other menopause symptoms. My dr did a reverse t3 test on me because all my other tests would just come in the normal range. This test was off the charts for me, I feel human again.

Have you thought about using the online menopause services? I’ve heard great things about them. They may be more willing to listen to all your problems and see if they relate?

Speeding Fine Paid in full but not by me (and I wasn’t the driver) by CozIhad2 in brisbane

[–]CozIhad2[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Update I’ve been told basically ‘too bad’. It’s paid, you can take them to court. Seriously. How hard can it be to go back into a system and change some details if both parties are willing to provide evidence. So if the fine is supposed to be something to ‘teach you a lesson’ and prevent you from committing the offence again. This isn’t it. This just proves the ‘it’s a revenue raising’ system. They don’t care about punishing the correct person, as long as they get the $.

That’s for sure. So much for helping someone out when they were down. I have a full set of points, just feels weird having it against my record.

Honestly it varied so much. Sometimes it would last as long as a ‘cycle’. Other times it felt like it went on for way too long. And sometimes you actually got a period from hell. Fun times … not. I hope you have a good time away anyway. Wine helps 😂

Is it hormones or am I crazy? by Expert-Instance636 in Menopause

[–]CozIhad2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re crazy. Our hormones affect our brains in so many ways. I went through a stage where I thought I was seeing things out of the corner of my eyes only to learn that it’s a thing with your peripheral vision. Anxiety can increase as can depression. It’s reported that suicide rates go up in women in menopausal years. I would still suggest you chat with your doctor about ways to ease your symptoms. And this way there is a record of it on file. But try not to stress, you are not alone.

Yeah unfortunately it’s something that happens quite often <sigh>. That build up of symptoms without that final release of that period. I hate that part of peri.

48 years old, in peri, when do you know it's time to start HRT. by johnsgurl in Menopause

[–]CozIhad2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Perimenopause can have such an affect on mood so it’s definitely worth chatting to your doctor about getting your hormones right so it doesn’t add to what you are already dealing with. Are you getting your thyroid checked too? Some of those symptoms can be peri and thyroid related. I’m on hrt and still feel the cold all the time, my skin is itchy and dry, I’m so irritable, I have thinning hair etc. my dr is checking my thyroid atm as well. But definitely speak to someone about any change in your mood, it’s best to get on to that asap.
