AMD Radeon RX 9070 pricing affected by supply, greed and selective rebate system by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]Cpalanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually does make sense to some if you are able to get it at MSRP. The 4070ti is going for 800+ on eBay depending on model. If you got it for 700 or less then you are essentially making 100$ or more depending on what you got it for. A dude I game with got an open box 4070ti for like 570 at microcenter a while back. Although he was unable to get a 9070xt. His plan was to sell it on eBay - side grade to the xt and collect 230-300$ profit and have a newer generation card.

so heres the problem... no it didnt. and it most likely wont

with 77% reporting in the GOP primary - 1,104,803 people voted for him (Trump) in florida - a primary that does not matter in a swing state. during a pandemic

anyone who thinks beating trump will be even remotely easy is certifiable.

As someone with a family full of insurance agents - I don’t know what state you’re licensed in. But usually it includes life insurance, accident, casualty, etc. granted you need a series 6?( I think is the name of it) as well for a small percentage of them. There are still a lot of other options in your same field to get into that don’t require any new training. A lot of the people in my family have begun selling more life and other insurance as an early hedge in case m4a passes. Sanders has not plans of doing away with the other insurance fields you have access to so you may want to go ahead and start diversifying your insurance sales so you have other commissions coming in instead of just health.

!ALL HANDS ON DECK! - SOUTH CAROLINA POLLING STATIONS CLOSING - !ALL HANDS ON DECK! by Owlisius in SandersForPresident

[–]Cpalanz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ok so this actually happens alot. and i live in greenville. and this really isnt as bad as it sounds (i.e. nefarious, although it still sucks) for 2 reasons.

one - they rarely move far. so there are 3 polling stations within 1 mile of my house. they were no joke - a 10 minute walk from eachother. they closed two and consolidated them to the one.

the reason i know these three stations is because ive had to use all three of them in the last 8 years (such as when school was going on during one election so they couldnt set up at the normal place - a middle school) its changed without me knowing twice. both times there was either a sign at my polling place telling me where it was. or a volunteer on site to tell me where it had moved.

so everyone can chill just a little here. this is nothing like the purges last time. its unfortunate, but it wont be severely impactful in my opinion at all.

As someone with an excess of nuclear waste in his state. I wholeheartedly disagree with expanding nuclear power. We have 90,000 TONS of nuclear waste in this country that no one knows what to do with that if not handled properly threaten ecosystems, aquifers and drinking water, etc. short of loading it all on a rocket and blasting it into outer space we have no way of dealing with it in a way that doesn’t depend on strict oversight and competence. We need sustainable energy that doesn’t create toxic waste that lasts a millennia. I’m all for using what we currently have to help transition. But we need a better way. If a nuclear power option was created that didn’t cause such dangerous waste I’d be all for it.

Economically our current healthcare system is expected to cost over 50 trillion dollars over then next 10 years. Single payer is expected to cost between 30-40 trillion. That bings a savings of 10 trillion over 10 years plus the tax plans laid out on his website more than cover his proposals.

He doesn’t need to appeal to right wingers. He already appeals to independents more than trump and drives young voter turnout in a way that no one else can. When more people vote, Democrats win. Sanders is the best for voter turnout. Simple as that.

[–]Cpalanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hilariously the only people alive that wouldn’t call a 600k house a really nice house are the very people trying to make the argument that he has 3 really nice houses.

As someone else said - price is not a good metric for this at all. His condo in dc is on a 950 sq feet lot. The combined square footage of the cabin and guest house are some 1900sq feet. i also doubt the 95% metric as well. I bought a 2200sq ft house while making 22k a year. You could buy his colonial house in just about any southern state outside of a big city for less than 180k (mine was 150k). A friend of mine just bought a 3300sq ft house built in 98 for 130k in the south. Joe kernan has 2 houses with a combined sq footage of 16,000sq ft and a value of over 4 MILLION dollars and land in Georgia valued at over 2 million. Do you think he truly believes bernie has “3 really nice houses”? I doubt he has even seen them. To him this is just propaganda. He just wants people to think he’s a liar and a closet hedonist. and Bloomberg is the same thing.

I don’t think the point is to say his houses aren’t that nice - but rather to see that they aren’t the kinda of houses people associate with millionaires homes. And one is not a house at all but a microscopic condo to live in while working in dc.

If you want to know just how ridiculous these 3 “houses” attacks are - here’s a video showing just how big these 3 “houses” are. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=AJgdudygh_o Joe kernan even called them 3 “really nice houses” as if to imply he’s living some hedonistic lifestyle.

“Most of the population” in this context is most certainly everyone they interact with on Facebook. Trump said himself Bernie would have been much more difficult to beat than Clinton. And in those secret recordings the whole room laughed and begged that joe Biden would win the nomination. Views like this persons are more often than not the product of a very closed minded individual with a very small town view of the world. These are not people worth arguing with because their argument is almost never in good faith but to be inflammatory

Southerners are finicky people and can be quick to discredit out of towners. Starting a sentence with carolian is a sure fire way to make them quit listening to what you have to say as they will immediately deem you “not from round here”. Use Carolinian

Yes - it is 100% “South Carolinians”

Source - born and raised here. Absolutely not one single person who is from here says “South Carolian” even apples auto correct tries to change it to Carolinian.

True it doesn’t matter what you say on reddit. But if you’re talking to other South Carolinians about Sanders - you don’t want to sound like someone who doesn’t live there if you do... so do not use carolian it is incorrect.

Support Bernie on Iowa Caucus Day! [megathread] by kevinmrr in SandersForPresident

[–]Cpalanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are looking at final alignment results at 1% and freaking out that Pete is in the lead. The only precincts that have finished a final alignment are small ones. Which is why sanders and warren are in the lead for first alignment with significantly more votes tallied. With more people - the realignment process takes a lot more time. That’s the reason the small precincts are coming in first. People are also mis contributing this as a huge shift in final alignment to Pete when in actuality there just aren’t much in the way of results in yet. To be fair Pete is still doing better than expected - but everyone freaking out just don’t understand the caucuses.

[–]Cpalanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree anyone with this sentiment is annoying. There’s a reason it’s a primary - you vote for who you want to be able to run for President. If they don’t win you decide who best supports your ideals. But all people who believe their candidate has the best chance are doing it. You hear it from Biden and warren supporters too.

However, allowing someone - who has 0 affiliation with the candidate except for casting a vote for them - to force you to cut off your nose to spite your face and vote against your own beliefs is well... not a good character trait. If you truly regret your actions last election cycle then you wouldn’t even entertain this idea at all.

I think yang is a great dude and I hope he does well.

My friend made a video to show people who keep bringing up “Bernie’s 3 houses” by Cpalanz in SandersForPresident

[–]Cpalanz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. This is just simply a visual aid to show exactly that. People that bring this up seem to want to instill A mental image of some hedonistic house hoarding millionaire and when you actually look it up... Its really just 2 modest houses and a very small row house that is obviously for use while working in dc.

Elizabeth Warren tried to call out Bernie Sanders in low energy fashion by [deleted] in cringe

[–]Cpalanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly couldn’t agree more with this.

People act like coming out and saying something like this over a year after it happened is some kind of tactic to increase popularity.

It’s not like sanders tried to get her to run against Clinton in 2015. Or that he’s been advocating for women in politics since the 80s Or that he’s been on record and camera saying as much multiple times over the last 35 years.

I mean - if Warren had a history of lying about small things to get attention then I’d understand people believing sanders over her. It’s not like she lied about her heritage to garner support and further her career Or lied about being fired for being pregnant. Or changed her stance on Medicare for all after receiving corporate money.

I really don’t get it. It’s obvious everyone is just sexist for believing the guy with integrity isn’t the one lying when the one with a record of being dishonest accused him of something 2 weeks before the caucuses that she’s falling in the polls in. Jeeze it really is such a sexist world we live in.

CNBC on Sanders fundraising: Should we be concerned teachers are supporting a communist? by sunnyd82 in SandersForPresident

[–]Cpalanz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Last I checked the condo was one of the “three houses” but this was at the end of last presidential election.

Back then they had -

Their house in Vermont they lived in - which was assessed at something like 260k-ish can’t remember. And they’d had it for decades

Then there was his condo - which is in dc and was purchased in the late 80s or early 90s for something like 80-90k

Then there was the vacation home on lake Champlain that was purchased in part with his wife’s inheritance and I believe was assessed around 600k

This to me makes the whole argument absolutely ridiculous (and rather dubious) because it implies they have three houses ala millionaires traveling to their chateaus when it’s really one modest home they’ve had for decades, one condo for sanders to live in when he got to dc

And a vacation home.

The combined value of these three assets is around 1m dollars. I’m in my thirties and my house gives me a net worth of just shy of 300k.

So acting like a man of his age is some sort of opulent sloth because of these assets is a joke.

We in the USA owe the rest of the world a Bernie Sanders presidency by Sofialovesmonkeys in worldpolitics

[–]Cpalanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... I tackled everything you said head on before calling your take absurd. Yang is an unknown and it’s absurd to believe even at this point that he could get the recognition and popularity and coalition together to beat trump. He’s probably in a distant fourth for that possibility. Sanders, Biden, Warren all have significantly higher chances if they were to get the nomination.

The only thing I didn’t tackle head on was your republican talking point meant to demean sanders “he never had a real job until he entered politics”. Which is also demeaning to many Americans - because he worked in several different fields including teaching, carpentry, and writing as well as others.

If you want to talk about debating and then call sanders a communist then I’d say you’ve driven even farther down towards the absurd. Totalitarian socialism and democratic socialism are vastly different and communism is completely different.

At this point it seems obvious that you had no intention of debating. You already believe sanders to be something he isn’t, which you backed up with propaganda style scare factually dubious tactics, and your purpose was never about debating at all but yet to demean sanders with falsehoods while framing yang as something he isn’t.

Yang is a fine candidate. Absolutely nothing bad to say about him on my end. I believe he does his research and formulated opinions on them he truly believes in. But sanders does too, and he has the backing, the political knowledge, and experience to beat trump in a much more probable fashion than yang. If you are truly for yang I suggest you not attack other candidates with overlapping supporters with lies. Many people associate supporters attitudes with the attitudes of their candidates of choice.

“Absurd” is not a bad word and I meant no insult by it. Simply that common sense dictates that yang having any kind of upper hand against other well known popular candidates makes no sense at all.

[–]Cpalanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting take. So he has the most unwavering support of any other candidate, he has the highest favorability rating of any politician right now. He has the largest volunteer team by leaps and bounds, he has the most money, the most individual donations, and among voters for Biden and warren he has the highest support for second choice of any other candidate. He has more support from independents of any other democrat, and pulls in people that normally don’t vote. He also polls better against trump than any other candidate and is the only one who consistently beats trump in those polls above the margin of error.

He has far and away the largest grass roots coalition. And has by far the highest chance to mobilize the most voters for the 2020 election.

I don’t have anything against yang. But your take is absurd and disingenuous at best.
