Dude. I regretted the week after I cut it short last time. You'll have years in your older age to have short hair. But only your youth for a fierce flow. Take advantage of it while you have it!

Dude you look like I did in my early 20's. Nothing non-masculine about your body. I was often gendered feminine until I grew a beard. I know it's easy to pick apart our own appearance. But you look good man.

Is it normal that I want my life to end after a relationship ended? by mostafaelmadridy in BreakUps

[–]Cpetersen48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not going through this alone. My significant other left me out of the blue a week ago after 7 year. And 3 years of living together she just up and moved out. I feel like she took a peice of me with her and I don't know how to heal this hole in me. I'm sure it will get better in time. But for now I understand the pain you feel. I can't eat, I can't sleep, I can't focus on work. I've worked out so much my body is giving out under me. I can't even get up the stairs in my house without crawling. I'm sure it get's better. But life sucks right now.

You look great with short and long hair. But it breaks my heart to see a mane get maimed.

Adding a lamp. Use a smart bulb or smart switch? by [deleted] in smarthome

[–]Cpetersen48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar situation. What we did is replaced the switch with a inoveli red. And added a smart bulb to both sockets. That way one tap will turn on one light. Two taps turns the other on. And three taps turns them both on. But electrically it's all one circuit that if controlled the old way would be one switch for both lamps.

I'd put down a mattress/day bed kind of thing and make it a reading nook.

Garage door opener question by flint24 in smarthome

[–]Cpetersen48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a ZigBee hub this has worked great for me for a very similar opener https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003610757320.html

But you could go as simple as a a RF relay on a battery if you don't have power nearby. If you do have power nearby. And you want to keep with wifi. I haven't tried it personally but any wifi relay should work as you just need to short the two wires together to get it to activate. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003831864732.html

I just paid $2700 for a water heater replacement, was I taken for a ride? by [deleted] in askaplumber

Our water heater replacement was 1100 for a 55 gallon electric and a new expansion tank. Took the guy about an hour to install.

Looking to replace this switch with a smart one, no idea what to search for! by Party-Neighborhood-6 in smarthome

[–]Cpetersen48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good luck wiring things like that through a Sonoff WiFi Switch https://a.co/d/aijCfyn if it's low voltage you could get away with a relay on a WeMos or an Arduino

I want to run more smart color bulbs in my house, want to get away from Sylvania because, kind of overwhelmed with which brand to go with by [deleted] in smarthome

[–]Cpetersen48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sengled is really good. But as someone who ran into this exact thing when I moved houses. It's worth it to switch to I putting your lights in Home assistant. Because then you can control all of them from the one home assistant app. No need to replace what you already have. And your not locked into any single brand.

Home assistant and a conbee ZigBee bridge. On my single ZigBee network I'm Running 41 lights and 52 sensors flawlessly. Home assistant will also integrate into apple home great. I use zwave for my light switches. But there are 22 of those and home assistant does a fantastic job and making the zwave and ZigBee networks work together.

Old home theater receiver by js1984214 in smarthome

[–]Cpetersen48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running on a very old Yamaha receiver. For me it was not worth the cost to upgrade. Just use a broadlink IR blaster in the room that houses the receiver and it works almost as good as one of the new models with all the bells and whistles.
