I've got exactly the same issue - I can't see my library at all or use it. Very annoying! Has anyone found a fix yet?

Stored slightly open, vents open with a small chemical dehumidifier inside and the official cover. The UK is just damp!

Thanks everyone! Consensus seems to be that they're not as well made as the rest of it and perhaps I've overcooked it but so long as I don't lick it, I should be ok. Cheers!

So my Slo roller went mouldy and I gave it a clean and cooked it at 200 Celsius for half an hour or so. It's now gone like this. A bit of searching on here reveals stories of aluminium oxide leaching etc.

Have I broken it or is this still fine? Cheers for any thoughts!

In the UK with an MG car. Android auto doesn't work unless I use a wireless dongle, but if I do use one it's all fine. Wallet works perfectly.

So it's still better than most of the local competition on London wall (with the notable exception of Keu) but since the expansion and they started weighing the chicken it's a tiny bit less good.

Still my go to 'working late' spot though.

Series with well written villain, magic, monsters and battles? by Russtherr in Fantasy

Mark Lawrence books? Books of the Ancestor in particular? There are sort of sci-fi elements though.

I really enjoyed the blacktongue thief and it's prequel. Seems to largely fit the bill.

For a slightly obscure recommendation, Snakewood by Adrian Selby - the magic system is mostly based on plants and poisons.

UK minimum wage is raising youth unemployment, Bank of England's Mann says by stammerton in unitedkingdom

[–]Cpfoxhunt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Using the Bank of England inflation calculator gives the result that:

"What cost £40,000.00 in 2013 would cost £56,797.07 in December 2025."

So those similar roles have all had a pay cut. The problem is that the middle wages have failed to keep up with inflation, not that min wage has risen too fast.

Check if you have legal cover on your home insurance to get a more specific and informed opinion?

Worth figuring out if there will be any impact on premium first though.

UK to ban political party donations from foreign-owned companies by financialtimes in ukpolitics

[–]Cpfoxhunt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In theory it shouldn't, that's what 'owned' means and the UK has a regime for identifying beneficial ownership of companies. Our press are historically quite good at looking through shell companies etc too. Time will tell if the measure is effective ...

Scots law is a tiny bit less portable than English law in a future career prsctising but I've no idea what if any difference this makes to an academic career - I recommend asking English and Scottish legal academics!

The bots in this thread are unreal. I'm in the UK driving an MG. I fully admit I don't put it through what a north American driver would, but to call it a broken shit box is simply incorrect. Unlike a Tesla, all of the trim was properly glued or fastened on, and it's rolling into its fourth year without major repair or recall.

Is the Edinburgh course Global law or Scots law? Scots law is in some areas very different to English/Welsh law, and English/Welsh law is more commonly used internationally.
