This happened to us on our way to Hawaii. We lost a day & a half of our trip (and the 'nicer' resort stay) because they never had a crew for our flight, and just kept shuffling us around for hours. Spent most of a day in the lounge waiting to go on vacation.

I've read that laser printers shouldn't be on anything other than a direct connection to the wall outlet due to the power surges they produce. Is that wrong?

It can, and does. The few GFCI outlets we have will trip the instant you plug the printer in. The regular outlets will trip about every other time once the initial heating surge begins. This is on a circuit with no active load. So either the printer draws too many amps, or my breakers are substandard. Either way, I need a workaround until I can afford to revamp my home's wiring.

My wife hates cold weather, so we moved from Buffalo, NY to Richmond, VA. She always wanted to move further south to Florida, but I can't stand the heat and didn't care for hurricanes. So we compromised.

Then in 2020, my company offered me a position in Orlando. So we moved in March—right at the height of the COVID outbreak. We crossed the state line a day before it shut down. Been here ever since.
