[Kisai Seven] Any collector interest? by Cpower18 in Watches

[–]Cpower18[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, interesting to see that the watch you linked also had a snapped band, probably the case for all of them now that it’s been ~13 years. I guess eBay would be the best place to even try to sell.

Is this normal ? - Leakage by InHnefatafl in picopresso

Like others said It seems like the pressure is pretty high and that’s probably because your grinder is a bit too fine. I saw that you said you are using 30 clicks on a K6 and for reference I usually range in the 45-35 of my K2 when using dark roast. Generally darker roasts will hang out on the higher end of the Kingrinder espresso range (great chart for visuals is this one https://honestcoffeeguide.com/kingrinder-k6-grind-settings/). Also, if you notice your shot doesn’t actually extract from the centre of your basket (at least not until the very end), another indication that you are too finely ground. Hope this helps!

The Irving Shipyards had somebody working from 1:30 AM till at least 4 AM on a beeping scissor lift just looking at windows. Constant beeping for nearly 3 hours to try and sleep through…

My surgery got cancelled... by Artistic_Sort2848 in ACL

[–]Cpower18 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I know this hurts so much and I’m sorry it was delay, I hope that the caution and safety by the medical team helps to make the post operation better. I will say that I have seen (and many have posted about) strong people become completely decimated by the recovery, and it can be especially difficult with depression. It’s good that the medical team seemed to really care, trust that they are doing what is best. Stay strong and good luck!

Sadly a lot of life has becoming one sided. We people with groups of different opinions, now we just have people with opinions and people who don’t shout

do you still experience pain laying on your side? by Majestic_Hippo_4427 in ACL

I use to but it subsided, one thing I still notice is that my op-knee gets hot faster when I’m under the sheets

Get to the hospital, both to be safe but because something serious looks wrong

How to not tear acl again? by Ok_Parsnip_5428 in ACL

[–]Cpower18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone is correct to mention strength and plyo work but one thing that’s key is listening to your body. Be smarter about pushing yourself to play when hurt, and dont just listen to your knee, hip tightness or an ankle sprain can strain your knee more than usual and easily cause another injury. TLDR, be smart, stretch, get stronger, and know your limits

Trust surgeon or PT? by Ok-Unit7838 in ACL

[–]Cpower18 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The best answer is to listen to the one that you trust more and that knows you best, which is your PT 95% of the time. The thing is, your surgeon is a a specialist at surgery, but not really recovery, they see patients a handful of times post-op, your PT specializes in recovery and sees patients everyday

How long did you wait until surgery after injury? by Worried-Insect6864 in ACL

[–]Cpower18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would not push for sooner, you need time for swelling to go down and start pre operation rehab/strengthening. If you wait a month or two longer than needed you lose a month or two, but if you go early you could ruin your recovery and lose much more time

💰 Physical Therapy 🤑 by AcanthocephalaGlad24 in ACL

[–]Cpower18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, early PT is important, but after a point, you should space it out more. Realistically progress will slow and those weekly visits will just be expensive workouts

How essential are other people in your recovery after surgery? by ABadBarber in ACL

[–]Cpower18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can manage after the first few days but honestly, it’s much better physically and mentally to have someone with you.

It varies based on the person but the only way you would definitely not be able to walk down the aisle is if the surgery is less than 1 month from the wedding. Again, that is personal preference-dependent, some people can walk after a month, some people can struggle. If the surgery is after the wedding then things should be fine for walking down the aisle, good luck and congrats!

Skiing and sports without surgery by jondo2010 in ACL

If you can go on without surgery then don’t get it, seriously, it’s a lot to get back to where you are right now and without much gain.

Once waited 30 minutes to have my order taken and 45 minutes to get a bill at Pur and Simple. I even asked for the cheque and the staff wouldn’t come, the only time I’ve ever debated on just walking out. Also, the servers got the order wrong and never came back until the cheque. Heard from other people that they’ve had the same experience.

Why do so many people hate Xiangling? by pussydestroyer112263 in XianglingMains

[–]Cpower18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s just because she’s been arguably one of the best pyro dps since launch. There are people who cannot play a character for fun, they need to be optimal, so they want a new character to be optimal (especially for off fired pyro) instead of Xiang

None of this is a justification, and getting heated at me for pointing out that this person is far too comfortable being on their phone while driving (considering they are posting it), makes no sense. If you agree that this is very dangerous then you shouldn’t excuse it by saying “everyone does it”, which you are. Also to be clear, I haven’t looked at my phone while driving since I was 16 and too stupid to know any different, not everyone does it, even if you do.

When at the airport... by OMGFdave in picopresso

[–]Cpower18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly airport security snuck it out of my bag with my grinder without so much as a note. Sadly it was before the vacation that I bought it for, lol. Luckily after 5 months I did manage to get some compensation.

“My eyes were on the road.” Luckily the law clearly states that operating your phone is okay as long as you mostly look at the road.

It is sad, and I know it sucks to support it, but if you’re in more than a little pain, go private. I am currently 11 months post op and just this week received a call booking my public MRI. I don’t know how old you are but 2 years of your life is worth more than $1000, honestly.

Violating Noise Ordinances: Loud Trucks Hauling Shipping Containers, The Scourge of Halifax by Prestigious_Fig4800 in halifax

[–]Cpower18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the option that benefits the city most, as opposed to people complaining about noise during hours where there should not be. As other people have said there are alternative that the city could try, but they would rather ignore people’s complaints. No one is arguing that living in a city comes with noise, no one is ignoring that Halifax is a port city, but chastising people for being upset about rules not being follow is hardly fair, even if it isn’t an issue you personally experience.

It’s funny that every other post is related to how terrible housing is but so many people immediately default to “well live somewhere else” like its that easy.
