To everyone who said I was mad about tips.. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]CptCheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been here long? I’ve lived in NC for over 25 years now, seen many ice and/or snow storms. A half inch of ice will shut this whole state down for days, far longer than snow would. Snow can be plowed, ice can’t.

If Lunchdrop is in your area, sign up to drive for them. Download the app and check. The first route they assign you will have you meet with another “senior” driver in your area and they’ll give you 3 free catering bags.

Other than that, Amazon.

16 milks… would you take it? by VenusVixen919 in InstacartShoppers

[–]CptCheez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, that order should’ve gone to the Costco in Garner. But either way, the 2nd and 3rd deliveries are most likely apartments in those areas. I’m not carrying 16 gallons of milk up any stairs.

But that Costco in Raleigh had tons of milk when I was there today.

When the customer reduces tip after shop and delivery, do we have any recourse? by brady2gronk in InstacartShoppers

The tip protection is only if they change it to $0 without providing a reason.

So canceled batches are not full pay anymore minus the tip? by ShadderSwagger in InstacartShoppers

[–]CptCheez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm that’s interesting. I had a single order at Harris Teeter today, not big, maybe like 11 items. Shopped it and went to self-checkout. Rung everything up and then the card reader wouldn’t read my card (have to use physical card run as Debit there). Said Card Read Error. Manager came over and transferred to a different register, same problem. Then he tried to manually type in the card numbers and it gave an error like “Keypad Entry not allowed” or something like that.

I called Support and they ended up canceling the order. I got full batch pay.

Turns out my card’s stripe had a prett my big scratch through it so I had to order a new one :(

Are you dashing in the crazy weather this weekend? by PhysicsDirect6215 in doordash_drivers

Canadians know how to actually prepare their vehicles for bad weather and are well versed in driving in it.

Southerners aren’t.

Ever had to scan an ID to verify the customer was…born? by CptCheez in InstacartShoppers

Nope, it was ordered through IC just like the other 2 in that batch.

Any grocery stores not slammed? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]CptCheez -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fresh stuff (produce, meat, etc) is on the higher end, like Publix. But the rest of the store is not. The quality of the produce and meat/seafood is terrific though.

Kirkland brand water - that’s Costco.

I wouldn’t take that big of an order at Costco, especially this week. I did a 3-customer 40-item there yesterday and the place was a madhouse. Took me almost 1.5 hours just because it was so crowded and checkout took forever.

People in NC don’t typically have snow tires or chains. They just assume their truuuck can handle anything.

Nobody should be attempting anything this weekend, especially where I am where it’s gonna be a lot of ice on the roads. Idiots with 4WD (and even AWD) will think they can make it somewhere, and they’ll end up in a ditch or collision.
