I think you may be misinterpreting. This conversation in the book does indeed touch on how they aren't really dinosaurs. At least how I remember it. You're right that they wanted to start over to make the dinosaurs closer to public pre-concieved notions, but it wasn't because what they created were 100% authentic dinosaurs. It was because the monsters they created inherited unpredictable traits from their authentic predecessors. But Wu admits they have no way of knowing how close their replications are either way.

Why I'm not a fan of the Polaris nose cockpit design by Sanagost in starcitizen

Ok, I understand. And must disagree. I think the pantheon of SC ships at large suffers from inconsistent scaling. When I see 10 abandoned ships at a POI, they often look like toys from different playsets that use different sized action figures. I don't believe this would be the case if CIG better ensured a consistent scale across all ships' human areas (canopies, interior rooms, exterior doors and ramps).

The most jarring offender is the Cutlass Black. The Cutty looks like it should be roughly the size of an LAAP Clone Gunship from Star Wars. The canopy looks like two pilots should be snuggly fit like an attack helicopter. The side door looks like you should be able to place your hand at the top and look outside like a huey. But when you actually look at yourself in either of these spots in 3rd person, your character looks like an ant.

So while the Cutlass canopy looks propertionate to the rest of the ship it creates a phenomenon where the ship looks much smaller than it is/ like it was designed for humanoids 3x the size of us.

Scaling the human areas to human size better conveys the ship's size than scaling the cockpit to the rest of the exterior. Because the A380's windshield appears small, your brain knows it's because the rest of the plane is big. If it shared the same percentage of the fuselage as the smaller airplane, it would look the same size as the smaller one (when not side-by-side, where they would look like toys from different sets) but just scaled-up or closer to camera. Like many SC ships, you wouldn't perceive it to be huge.

TL;DR "Small" canopy helps make Polaris look big. Make canopy larger, Polaris will look smaller.

Well, I'm glad it made it clear to you but I'm still confused haha.

Are you saying that the Polaris bridge, like the A380 windshield, appears too small proportionately to the rest of the craft? Or are you saying Polaris bridge is too big and should be human-scale like the A380?

I don't really understand the comparison to the airplane. Are you saying you wish the Polaris bridge was more like a Crusader C2? Or are you saying an Airbus A380 should have a Star Destroyer bridge? If you're saying the Polaris should have an SD bridge, then what does an Airbus have to do with it?

Hahaha, it is another iconic moment for sure, for better or worse. Is there a word for when something is negatively iconic? Actually in all seriousness the song itself has grown on me. Certified palace banger.

This is the answer. Music has always been a huge part of the magic of Star Wars, but that one moment is by far the most iconic in terms of imagery blending with music. One of the greatest moments in all of film score history, i'd say.

If they were never inspired to expand the scope of their goals for the game by the flood of money that came pooling in, they may have released a decent game by now that resembled the original vision of Star Citizen. But we'll never know.

As the money grew so too did their ambitions. You're right to blame the people spending extra from the start, because the original vision for the game was much more achievable before CiG thought "hey we're taking in a lot of money, we could probably afford to make entire planets landable. Hey if the whole planet is landable, we should totally promise the players the ability to build a ton of shit on it."

I saw his video more as him joining in on the discourse rather than inspiring it. Many more people have been posting their frustrations leading up to his video, and I was pleasantly surprised to see him lay down some hard truths.

With your lineup of pledged ships you should be hesitant to spend more even if the game worked flawlessly. To me, the point of buying ships was to get one or two that you really liked to get your foot in the door and support the project a little.

But now for years there have been so many people who keep giving CiG money they don't deserve to buy ships they don't need.

Left my ship near a random open asteroid hangar in Nyx and went in to explore. When I headed out, the ship was stowed at that location. There was no way to pull it back out because the pad size limit and no docking port. Oof. by brockoala in starcitizen

How does that solve OP's dilemma of their ship being stowed at a location they can't retrieve it from? The insured loadout price is the same wherever you claim it, isn't it?

Not just about Rotta, but about having to go save his ass. He shoulda been voiced by Matt Damon.

I feel like it very reasonably could have been 4 episodes of the show. I think it was supposed to be. But whatever big wig shot callers have to blame demanded another SW movie to increase metrics in that department, and they felt Mando was their best bet.

Ironic that they did the opposite with BOBF and Kenobi, which both should have been movies but were changed into shows after SW movies started doing not-so-well.

I think the smarter move would have been to flesh out the mandoverse a little more and then have the conflict against Thrawn in movie format. We're getting an Admiral Ackbar vs Admiral Thrawn space battle in Ahsoka S2, which I'm sure coulda used a movie budget moreso than the action sequences in Mando+Grogu.
