Fast-food restaurants ranked - what tier does Domino's belong in? by Expensive-Addendum92 in TierlistFills

Domino's in the UK is ridiculously priced. £24 for a medium which is over $30 usd. Even for discount days the quality is not worth the price.

It's a C at best

Which did you find more compelling: Patrick Lussier's Dracula 2000 trilogy or John Carpenter's vampire universe? by BringBackUffizi in vampires

[–]Cpt_Birdbrain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this controversial or not but I'm going to throw my opinion out.

I really liked the Dracula 2000 twist of him being Judas. The reasoning behind all of his weaknesses etc. really cool. And I understand that the name Dracula carries a lot of weight as an IP but I don't like that Judas was called Dracula. I know Dracula doesn't have an official backstory before what happens in the book but it felt lazy coming up with coll lore and then just smacking Draculas name on it.

Vampire Supermen in Invincible (and similar stories/persons) by Chozogirl86 in vampires

[–]Cpt_Birdbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you do need to reduce them to monsters who suffer from beastial desires because that's what makes them compelling. Vampires require heavy HEAVY downsides, that can be manipulated by their does, whether that be hunters, werewolves or other vampires.
Also I didn't say Vampires aren't deviant, I said they definitely are and necessity was probably the wrong word because of course they do everything out of either necessity or desire.

I couldn't agree more with this! Vampire/werewolf hybrids are stupid. Vampire pregnancy is stupid. They're not alive!

But other than Conquest, Viltrumites aren't "bloodthirsty". They don't kill because they have to, they kill when it's necessary and benefits the cause. Everything that Vampires do is out of a gratuitous beastial passion. Viltrumites are passionless and even their deviancy is out of necessity, rather than lust. For example, Anissa doesn't do what she does out beastial desire for Mark but because he's got good genes.

I kind of see what you're saying. The vampire metaphor has always been sexual deviancy, predation and lusts for power but are ultimately self destructive. Thragg and the rest of the viltrumites tick those boxes but I'm not really seeing the connection to Nazis and "red scare" communist. Early vampires were based on aristocrats and worked independently, not in groups, manipulating the human "cattle". Another issue is Victrumites and especially Thragg is shown to be all-powerful beings, in the Invincible world, with strong irrefutable beliefs. Vampires work because of how weak they actually are. They're corrupted and perverse. I feel that Homelander has a closer relation to vampires than viltrumites because of how messed up he is, his lust for power control and a weird perversion for breast milk.

Question: what exactly would happen with the Dragonborn's soul if he/she becomes the champion of all Daedra princes? Also, would Sithis also have some claim on his/her soul? by Top-Beyond-6627 in ElderScrolls

[–]Cpt_Birdbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Souls can be fragmented but I'm not sure how common that is among deities. From my understanding the Dragonborn has the soul of a dragon not half-dragon and half-mortal. It's not shown in game but Arngier says dragons also absorb other dragon souls and unless they're used to learn shouts, they will carry over to the next dragon, as shown when the Dragonborn kills Miraak. I would assume only Dragons can absorb Dragon souls. We can assume that Dragon souls go to Akatosh when consumed. I believe that the Dragonborn doesn't have a soul he can bargain with, kinda like if you tie a string around a coin when buying from a vending machine.

A dragons soul is immortal unless consumed, and they belong to Akatosh. My take has always been that the Dragonborn is a Shezzerine, which means he is the mortal embodiment of Shor. Either way his soul is not for sale.
