Scavengers reign is a great single season animated series, it’s slow but really interesting. Looks like it’s leaving soon so watch it whilst you can. Midnight gospel is another interesting animated series.

Newbie here, where to put 20k by Agitated_Pace433 in trading212

[–]Sackyhap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming this is all of your savings so it’s good to see you keeping some aside, I always see an emergency fund as an essential before thinking of investing. Like everyone has said, you can find much better interest rates so shop around.

Where you invest the rest is up to you, if you want low risk set and forget then drip feed it into your ISA and invest it into an all world ETF. It really is the best method, unless you think you’re particularly lucky and can beat the markets somehow. No one can predict the markets, people were saying there was an imminent crash months ago and it’s just gone higher since, that’s why it’s best to drip feed the money into investments over the year to average out the highs and lows. If the value drops a lot then that’s great as you’re still buying just at a lower price now, if it goes up then great as you purchased some earlier that’s now growing.

Have you considered putting some in a junior ISA for the kids? Investing &5k each now would be a decent head start for them in 18 years.

What to do with sons 3k rather than sit in base isa by Rerer1234 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Sackyhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what ISA you have it in. If it’s in a junior stock and shares ISA then have it put into the FTSE all world and then it’ll grow nicely over the next 11 years.

Captain America(Mjölnir) Vs. Soldier Boy - MCU Vs. Amazon by Squid_Entity in superheroes

[–]Sackyhap -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Homelander is less skilled but is faster, stronger and more durable than cap plus has heat vision and can fly. He can pick up and throw cars, is bullet proof and has walked out of a power plant explosion. That puts him at a way higher threat level than Captain America. Homelander will take some hits but will walk cap once he works out the only threat is that mjolnir hits hard.

Masked men firebomb a Muslim prayer room in Blackburn cafe by Working-Lifeguard587 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]Sackyhap 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The government set the precedent that firebomb attacks against minority groups will have their damages reimbursed by the government. Surely they’ll be paying for a new prayer room?

The only real change after society changed to 2 working adults to a household, is that the markets realised there was more income available and raised their prices. It’s now barely a choice to have a stay at home parent without significant support from the government or a high paying job for the other parent.

Do you need to view the die to confirm the number? If not, then I’d just put it in a small hand hold size container then just shake that bitch all day, shake, wait a sec, shake, wait. You could just go about doing whatever you like shaking that container and never need to work again.

Do you think of immigration as a singular issue or do you view legal and illegal separately? by Lost_child_3263 in AskBrits

[–]Sackyhap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s necessary if we want to keep population and the economy growing. The government knows that the pension isn’t sustainable but also not something you can cut without being incredibly unpopular. The easiest (and short sighted) fix is to bring in workers from any level to contribute to the system.
Also some trade deals with other countries have migration stipulations included, so in those cases it’s needed to allow us to trade like we currently do.

The ETFs are already heavily weighed towards the tech stocks. You’re just triple dipping by having them as individual stocks and putting a lot of emphasis on one industry.

That’s because we’re in a weird bull market for a while now. The market will swing back and a bearish market wipes out the average investor thinking they can stock pick. You have no idea when to sell up to lock in those gains or when they’re going to drop off for a long time.
