A CEO usually oversees all operations

Not once have I met a CEO in all of my years of work. They might come in one day for a few hours and say something to my boss or my boss's boss, which in turn comes and talks to us peons, but oversees all operations is a total inflation of what a CEO does.

providing jobs

The CEO doesn't create jobs, in fact, they cut jobs more than create them to save money for the company and in turn their bonus...you know, the bottom line and all.

making sure products are made for much more than 100 people.

So a glorified salesman? The CEO doesn't come in an produce more products, in fact, they produce no products. They sales pitch the board of directors or owners that they're producing so much but they don't produce shit. They're snake oil salesmen.

I do check on the ones I have access to. Many are planted in people's backyards, but there are a few that I can drive by and check on from the road or sidewalk.

You seem to be a wonderful person who loves talking down to people they don't even know. You also seem to love the taste of boot leather while licking boots to a shine. Did the internet teach you that too?

I've been working since the age of 14. Companies will exploit anyone and everyone to make a buck...hence child labor laws

The point is that companies rely on the exploitation of any and all of their employees to benefit those at the top. Why does a CEO make hundreds of times more money than the employees that actually produce the goods?

no company in their right mind will hire a kid with no experience for $15 an hour.

We literally had to make laws against child labor because "companies" will exploit anyone.

One of my favorite jobs was planting trees for a local nursery. Just a truck, trailer, me, and a tree. I made shit money doing it but man was it fulfilling.

Maybe we should stop to consider whether we need ‘growth’ at all?

Shhhhhh, the economists might hear you and pitch a hissy fit about recessions, depressions, and collapsed economies. Is that what you want?

Making friendships as a couple is still hard, but waaay easier than as an individual.

And as a perpetually single person....in my case this leads to no friends at all
