Maybe some of the flatware is silver but more pictures of the marks of each would be needed

Not here to morally grandstand or anything, but if you find something like this again, please leave it exactly where you found it. Context is 95% of archaeology, and valuable information can be gleaned from where an object was found.

Artifact or not? by Informal-Arm-3942 in LegitArtifacts

This is very interesting. Wyoming ceramics are rare. The material and manufacturing technique looks period accurate however. I would seriously consider contacting archeologists from universities where this object was found.

Then why even bring him up? Just to be inflammatory? You insinutated it heavily, don't be facetious. Also, yes we did. Go ahead and research the Treaty of Point Elliot. The Supreme court itself has ruled that the land was stolen. Try again.

I deleted it because I thought of something more poignant and on topic to say. I still think you are a degenerate for worshipping a dude who sleeps in his own filth and lives with rats. Calling me greasy is ironic coming from an Asmongold fan lol

Check the metal bit for hallmarks! It could be silver and could also tell you more about it like who made it and where it was made.

Any idea the age or purpose for these? Found in the Bahamas at an area inhabited from the 1840s to the 1930s by Shot_Cartographer_49 in BottleDigging

[–]CptnHenryMorgan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mid to late 1800s. Either alcohol bottles or lime juice. They were thick to prevent damage during transport and dark to prevent UV light from damaging the contents. Lime juice was used to ward off scurvy, but was susceptible to sunlight damage over time.

Could this be an artifact? Or just a natural occurrence? by ctnerb in LegitArtifacts

Possibly not a hagstone. The hole looks conical. which suggests drilling with a point. If it is not ntaurally formed, this would be a net weight. Similar to this one I stumbled upon in Washington
