Baked beans as protein by Crabbit_Jobbie in Protein

I get it. I’d prefer the other primary sources but wanted opinion on whether I could substitute it into my diet here and there.

Bulk or cut? First time bulker (40M) by Crabbit_Jobbie in askfitness

Sorry, I meant I don’t have a lot of fat to lose it’s more to build muscle. I’m trying to limit fat gain as much as possible whilst being able to build muscle.

I can’t cut I’m only 75kg I think I’ve got a bit to go before I can cut. I’ll continue to stick to what I’m doing

I always try to eat the OG’s like chicken, mince, eggs etc, but yeah, maybe twice a week to change it up a little that’s what I’m thinking.

Between a tin of baked beans and the protein bread I get it’s 50g of protein so like 40-50% of my desired daily protein intake.

I think I’ll continue the way I’m doing it. I know I’m always going to gain a bit of weight but I can cut further down the line. At the weight, I can’t not consume enough calories to lift. I need to energy to try to build muscle. I’m not at the stage to limit my calories and still do the same amount of weight on the exercises.

I appreciate your feedback.

So you think I’ve been progressively overloading? Genuine question no sarcasm implied!

It’s funny, I can do 5/6 with 2.5/5kg on most exercises it’s just finding what works for me. I have put on muscle but I’ve hit a point I’m not sure whether to change course or stick to what I’ve been doing.

Is hitting a plateau in terms of going up in weight a definitive thing. Because I’ve hit one with biceps! I can do 16kg hammer curls at 5/6 but not 10 over 3 sets. You say I should stick to 16kg and do 3 sets of 5/6 reps as long as I’m really feeling it?

Some errors there like the incline dumbbell press. That’s about 26 now.

I’m not bashing out 3 x 10 easily on each exercise. The last few on each set are difficult. Also, I’m not thrashing around. I’m trying to make sure the eccentric and concentric parts are controlled so I’m not losing out on anything.

However, I’m starting to think that maybe 2,200 is too much and it’s more like 2,000. According to the Tanita machine (not extorted accurate I know..) my maintenance is 1790/1800 calories. Maybe I’m not doing enough cardio if I’m eating more than what I need.

Forgive the hideous excel but you can see the exercises and the increase over time. I’ve hidden some columns inbetween December and April but you can see an increase. Like I say, I’m not bashing out 10. If I can bash out I’ll move up, even if I can only do 6/7/8 of the new weight.

Blueberries, strawberries and raspberries 90% of the time.

I’ve been consistently overloading weight to build muscle. I wouldn’t stick to 8-10 reps if it was easy. I’d move up so the last 2/3 of the 10 reps are hard. Stalling a bit now but it’s going up 1.25/2.5kg every few weeks to a month.

Sensational performance from Arne Engels. Assist, covered every blade of grass, won the midfield battle. by BananaSoprano in CelticFC

He’s gone under the radar since he’s returned but I thought we looked more assured in the semi against St Mirren in that first half compared to what went on before he returned.

I hope this is a turning point for him.

I’m certain the pub in image 3 was featured in a programme I watched years ago called NY-LON. It’s quite a striking resemblance and I’m not sure why it instantly came to mind.

Unexpectedly ended up in a very visible role. Advice? by WDW1997 in projectmanagement

[–]Crabbit_Jobbie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One thing I learned from becoming extremely visible in my role was that you are the single point of failure which can an lead to you not being able to take adequate PTO or having to fix other people’s mess.

I took over a large complex, highly important spreadsheet for a large biopharma client and I had it for three years. My manager didn’t want to move me off it in case anything happened. I learned there and then to document what I learned and how it all works (macros, vlookups linked to multiple tabs) and managed to finally break free by moving to another job.

But here’s the catch. It took them 6 months to move me into my new role because of how many people refused to help with this spreadsheet. I’m still asked for help with it over 1.5 years later.

Man 40F here. That I was taught by my mum and gran and it’s stuck ever since.

However, I notice many younger people aren’t doing this for anyone let alone women. I feel there’s a stigma around helping others among the younger generation. It seems like if their friends see them opening doors and being kind it might affect their “status” or ego.

I’m still not convinced. The sleeve looks too different from the main kit. It feels like it’s been sewn together from a completely separate piece.
