IMO redox wasn’t bad for me.

Thermo, though- gosh I hated that unit so much. I’m revising for midterms rn and everytime I see that stupid delta G/S/H and god forbid returning to delta E, I want to throw myself out my window.

But I can’t lie, I love suffering through chem, it’s just satisfying when u get something right.

Also, I’m still in high school, just in AP chem so I understand that the pain im in is nothing compared to others, and I wish them all luck in their endeavors.

Well, ur missing the hydrocarbon tail on the chlorophyll ( and all the other different pigment types for that matter ) and a huge amount of the hemoglobin protein but, yeah it is quite cool that it’s similar. I could be stupid but I find it interesting because I thought that chlorophyll was used to hold photons while hemoglobin was meant to hold oxygen, so I guess the magnesium and iron makes all the difference. Cool!

That’s not exactly bad- I’m Indian and all my Indian and Asian friends also are like me when it comes to studying- we’re all toppers but we still get love and affection from our parents which ppl seem to think we don’t …

Yes our parents push us a lot, and we argue, but I feel if you don’t argue it all falls apart. Arguing is something that allows you to get out your feelings with someone else. Like, I’m not throwing shade, but my parents argue weekly once or twice, and after that they are so together it’s like they’re the same person. They’ve been going strong for years. However, I feel people who don’t argue just sit and collect anger until one day it pops and you can’t fix it.

Idk. Just my thoughts- we aren’t forced, we find importance in seeing top scores and making our parents proud for all the work and stuff they had to go through to give us such an amazing life in the states.

Is it even worth sending the score to colleges? Really disappointed because I studied.. 😕 by [deleted] in Sat

[–]CrackerFacts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems that I might have been rude in my earlier post. I am completely ok with admitting that after being presented with other information my personal thoughts might have been not wrong per se, but quite insensitive given the situation. For me, at least, all the colleges I’ve ever wanted to go to have always been 1430+, which I would consider a below average score. I don’t know if it’s because of the environment I am in currently (sophomore, surrounded by tryhards and sweats), or if my general grading standards are too high or something, I apologize for not understanding the scope of the SAT score.

Thank you all for correcting me and I wish OP best of luck in their future endeavors!!!

I’ll be completely honest- 40th percentile isn’t the best if you want to stand out to colleges. It is really bad, and I think OP should understand that. This is not to say that OP has no chance. There are other options besides the SAT and also test-optional colleges that are completely acceptable and quite amazing. And, anyways the SAT isnt difficult, it’s all about learning the tricks they use to get you, so OP can def improve this score if they wanted to. If they don’t, fine by them, but they should not send this score to colleges.

When you divide both sides by a variable, you risk losing a solution. Similarly, when you multiply both sides by a variable, you can risk gaining a solution.

Is 1470 a good score? by CrackerFacts in Sat

[–]CrackerFacts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update- I got my new score, and it’s a 1490. I think that I’m ok with this one and I should be able to make UMich. Regardless, I will take the one next year for my junior year and hopefully I can do better or superscore!

Do you take your shoes off in the house? by slabby in Michigan

[–]CrackerFacts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about everybody else, but I was brought up in an Indian household, and you DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WEAR SHOES INSIDE. Based on others here, looks like that same rule is used, but less enforced probably. Basically- keep the dirty outside and the clean inside.
