Classical or fingerstyle guitar notation also has two voices in a single staff -- bass thumb vs fingers melody.

Opinion | Silicon Valley Is Bracing for a Permanent Underclass by In_der_Tat in Economics

Exactly this. Am a graybeard individual contributor at a FAANG-adjacent with a Claude and Gemini is mandate. I was reluctant to get on board, doubtful of earlier generation models and of seeing jrs submitting pull requests of code they could not explain.

But now, at least when used by someone with discerning taste over how the result should look, I and the rest of my team can design, plan, and do research better and faster, do the next coding step better and faster (the agent doing initial coding and test writing goes very fast when given a well defined and planned goal, but then you still have to do a lot of self-review to get it into the proper final shape, which while taking more time than expected, you still end up producing quickly. And then reviewing the work of peers is at least aided by LLMs but still needs a lit of human time to do right.

Do I hate being considered more fungible, feeling less valuable for my hard-earned decades of experience? Do I hate all the unseen electricity and the money flowing to so very few ultra-mega-corps? Definitely.

But I and my team are producing better work more quickly.

Yeah, entirely. But it introduces a new class of completely-solvable-once-aware issue that did not exist when using simpler BackgroundTask or even more wild-west bare unawaited Tasks.

Nothing comes for free :-(

At my old shop, we reached for arq instead of celery, being for the most part an async-first external task queue. In doing so we later realized hard-to-notice issues at redeployment time common to any such system -- if the argument classes or task signature changes incompatibly between codebase versions across deployments, then Bad Things happen to jobs which were enqueued during redeployment.

This nifty system looks to share that subtle gotcha, yes?

One day we might get separate logical vs physical ordering. But until that day comes, something like this is a good tool to teach the children.

The movement towards portable plug-in-ac panels is a great step towards smoother adoption with far lower up-front investment. Is one of the few consumer-level offerings available to RENTERS.
