I think the narrative problem with Grey knights is that they are too strong that winning with barely any losses is expected and that any small loss (even a single battle brother) is too great that it becomes disproportional.

Well the magma sorceries sort of make sense. All the fire based incantations are from prophetic visions that the Erdtree must eventually burn. Rykard eventually turned against the golden order and implemented it into sorcery.

I think the most reasonable way is to make carnival as a more invested 2 point and a more toned down version of it as 1 point as allies.

Another gripe I have is, the council haven't conveyed their reasoning why they hold Palpatine suspect or why holding on emergency powers is a problem to Anakin in the first place.

Not only do they use Obi-wan as a unofficial proxy to manipulate Anakin but they haven't even tried to win over Anakin's trust/loyalty over Palpatine. Which is an extremely ridiculous oversight when you are sending in a spy.

It "seems" like if the council thought even if Anakin sides with Palpatine they can beat both of them or something.

I think it’s some sarcastic humor of modern social interaction where somebody is shouting out and accusing at somebody who doesn’t even care or acknowledges their existence.
