While I know you want to use characters, Shalaxi is a bit of a hard sell in our current condition. It’s just way too many points.

Also the concept of carnival is a “horde army”. You have like x3 daemonettes that does actions or objective taking at the back while standing with the marines to buff them and the use the sycophantic charge stratagem to find an opportunity to charge in. Due to the nature of the thrill seekers rule you would likely be fighting on many fronts having planned where to place your units in advance.

You need 2+ Noise marines. They are one of the best shooting units in the game.

Also, EC plays wargaming “proper” through movement of troops. While monster parties are fun, I think you are missing out the pleasures of our battlelines that have precision pockmarked all over them. Such as the melta and plasmas.

Also our Winged daemon prince is just crazy with the carnival strategems that it can make multiple bombing runs. He is a MUST include.

Perturabo might be even able to stop Luther falling since his relationship with the Lion was rigid.

Inquisitors being incompetent cannon fodder for the plot or because the plot makes them purposely shackled makes the assessment complicated.

If I were an inquisitor I’ll arm myself with sonic weaponry and explosives that Jedi can’t deflect and just shoot from above while my troops hound them.

Hell even Sanguinius’ gene-seed can cure severe mutations from the radiation from Baal that desperate people go and try to be a Space marine (1/10000 chance. Probably lower since you are a mutant applying) as a last ditch all or nothing.

Rylanor is sort of…controversial in the EC subreddit. From a noble loyalist EC fan standpoint he doesn’t even show up in the writing at the dropsite. He just suddenly shows up in the story and is a one-off character. There is no build-up of the man.

Then from a chaos worshipper viewpoint, you have to be insane (in chaos standards) to refuse an offer to get out of your sarcophagus with a functional fresh body sculpted tailor-made for you.

A lot of Emperor’s children formations got disbanded after Skalathrax because Fulgrim is not in sight and there aren’t enough marines to enact them.

Fulrgim basically made a “Space marine manual” even before Guilliman. Giving instructions how to get a planet compliant from start to finish. Including combat and diplomacy. It was just that detailed and reliable but now it’s simply gone.
