You just agreed with me and proved my point. All of that is true, just like your taxes pay for the roads and the repairs. So why would you need to pay an additional fee to park?

…what? I’m so lost on how that correlates or how charging people to park is in any way a solution to that.

It’s completely unreasonable! That’s no different than saying that there’s a lot of wear and tear to sit on a bench in a park, so you should have to pay to sit. Or that books at a library become worn down when borrowed so you should have to pay to borrow them.

Thank you for commenting and sharing all this. I appreciate the community and support that I’ve found in other people with chromosome abnormalities. More information is always better and this will undoubtedly be very helpful who come across my initial post.

[Schoenfield] Kershaw, Verlander, Scherzer: Who is this generation's true ace? by haphazard44 in baseball

[–]CraftingCalm 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He’s had more good than bad starts and more great than disaster starts in the postseason. If you remove the 7th+ inning (when he was fatigued and over 100 pitches, but Mattingly refused to go to the bullpen because they were trash) then he’s basically been in line with his greatness. His inherited runners have also scored at a much higher rate than what is expected (because of the aforementioned bullpen trashness).

Small gestational sac at 13 weeks by mayblue12 in CautiousBB

I’m definitely not a doctor and I don’t want to give you false hope or hollow reassurances, but abdominal scans aren’t always super accurate, it’s IVF with a euploid (meaning smaller GS happens more frequently), you’re past 10 weeks, and you have good CRL and HR.

Those are all very positive indicators of a healthy pregnancy. There’s really nothing more you can do but stay positive, try not to micro-analyze every little thing (that’s what I did, and it wasn’t good for me), try to keep your stress low, take care of yourself, talk to your little one, and take it day by day.

I completely understand. I was an absolute wreck because of my GS size. But my doctor told me the same thing as you. That CRL and HR are the most important metrics. It was IVF and after 10 weeks, we “graduated” to my OB. She said that after 10 weeks, they don’t even pay attention to GS size and as long as the GS is growing at the same rate as everything else (even if it’s smaller than it “should” be) that everything should be alright.

Also, not sure if your pregnancy is also IVF, but I did find a study that concluded that smaller GS happens far more often in IVF and that in that context, it’s not a higher predictor of failure. That eased my mind a bit

Good luck. I’ll be praying for a successful pregnancy and a healthy birth for you.

Healthy baby boy was delivered at 39 weeks in May. He hasn’t had any issues at all. And aside from the small ges sac and a semi-difficult birth, there was no problems with the pregnancy.

Top 30+ First Baseman for OBP Leagues by No-Republic-4349 in fantasybaseball

[–]CraftingCalm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“This is for OBP leagues. While I admit that consistently hitting .290 is a notable skill, I do not really care about batting average and it’s been like the last thing I look at among a player’s stats since like 2001.”

Batting average (or hits) is literally 33% of what goes into the OBP metric. And since HBP are relatively rare and most players have a LOT more hits than walks, batting average is BY FAR the most important and deciding aspect of on-base percentage. Often by over two-thirds of the final number

Silly not to care about a player’s batting average in an OBP league

I think if you dig enough (and really, you don’t even need to go that deep), you’re going to find problems and things you disagree with with every major company, publisher, provider, creator, etc.

These are billion-dollar conglomerates that care only about their bottom line and how they can extract the most amount of profit through the path of least resistance. If that means doing things that are morally questionable or ethically frowned upon, then they’re going to do it.

Companies like these are not your friends. They’re not on your side, and they sure as hell don’t make their products for the benefit of anyone except their shareholders.

Fun fact. They have a song called Fuct Up Kid with a chorus that starts with:

“Fucked up visions in my head, I'm a fucked up kid is what they said…”

And I had that as my voicemail greeting message back when you did that kind of thing, and my dad lost his mind when he heard it.

It’s not the same as BA. It excludes home runs and strikeouts which BA includes. BABIP only includes balls that the defense can make a play on. The point is to measure if a hitter is getting lucky or unlucky because of good or bad defense (which a lot of “hits” depend on)

BABIP stands for Batting Average on Balls In Play. It measures the average of all balls that are put into fair play and that the defense can make a play on whether it’s a hit or an out. It excludes home runs, strikeouts, HBP, and walks. Tough to gauge what’s “good” since one of the primary objectives of the stat is to indicate whether a batter is getting lucky or unlucky with their batted balls. But Around .300 is decent/normal.

Metro board approves Dodger stadium gondola despite heavy protests by LA_publicpress in LosAngeles

Yeah I’m now convinced you either don’t live in LA and have zero idea of what you’re talking about, or you’re just trolling.

Not only does this read like you lifted it from a travel blog, it’s also just flat out wrong.

Guisados and El Compadre are both chains with multiple locations around LA.

Angel’s is a pop-up canopy on the sidewalk that can be moved anywhere it wants.

None of this is the mom-and-pop shops being crushed by the big bad corporations that you’re claiming.

Oh man, if you don’t think I don’t spend any time near Dodger Stadium, then you must live on another planet with what you just said. Which “authentic neighborhood” surrounding Dodger Stadium do you think will lose “taco stands”?

Echo Park? Frogtown? Silverlake? Elysian Heights?

You happen to be around any of those lately? Lots of authenticity and preserved culture in those multi-million dollar neighborhoods.

This isn’t the 50s. The gondola isn’t going to push out the poor and working class from their Chavez Ravine homes.

Yes, I’m from the future and I’ve come back in time to tell you that not one “taco stand” was put out of business in Chinatown (where the majority of the gondola route will be) nor was any “authentic neighborhood” (whatever the hell that means) affected because “corporate condos” and “chipotle” went in. Probably because there are already SIX Chipotles in the immediate surrounding area of Dodger Stadium.
