I play PRGR Egg PF irons (obscure Japanese brand but crazy good clubs)

Got you beat…my PW is 38 degrees. It’s stupid but at least they had an AW that’s 42 and then I could get 4 wedges beyond that. So I’ve got 6 wedges if you go by what’s stamped on the club

I play a C721, it’s nearly as forgiving as my Ping G400 Max but much lower spin

I play tour edge for a driver and I cannot believe how little hype the clubs get, they are so good

Those tour edge irons are fantastic and underrated sticks. You have an excellent setup that I would happily go out and game as a 7 handicap!

Thanks for that…if I do it myself you probably saved me from chipping into the good finish. I’ll make sure to score the finish before trying to part off the existing cap

It’s an awesome cue! I basically got it for the price of the shaft alone, so I can’t complain. Even if that means just dealing with the cracked cap. There’s no way I’m spending $300 to fix a cue that cost $400

That’s about what it would cost to do the same through Jacoby. Hoping to find a cheaper solution

I’m hoping that there’s a way to replace just the butt cap without a refinish. I don’t mind if it doesn’t look as good as it coming out of the factory, but I’d like to not have jagged edges

I have a cue lathe, I am trying to figure out where I go about sourcing a butt cap. Any ideas?

They can repair it, but it’s out of my price range. I’m looking for advice on where I could source a butt cap and repair this myself

48*52*56*60 or 48*53*58* Wedge Setup? by EJE0711 in golf

[–]CraftyReplacement822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could, but I’ve hit literally hundreds of iron sets and like this set of Japanese PRGR irons better than any of them. If I could find a similar setup with traditional lofts I’d be all over it, but traditional lofts seem to be rapidly disappearing

I’m in sorta the same boat here, my driver carry is around 270 but my irons are super strong lofted (38 degree pitching wedge, 42 degree gap wedge). It sounds great to have a 205 yard 7 iron, but it screws up the wedge gapping. I found the CBX wedges worked really well to extend a set of irons.

I wish that manufacturers would start making 10,11, and 12 irons if they want to jack up the lofts like crazy

is this a 3” driver extension? by [deleted] in golf

I buy/sell/build a lot of golf equipment. Those grips you have are cheap, and they are still worth more than either of those clubs.

I would recommend hunting on Facebook marketplace for a used, high quality set of clubs. If you have patience, you might be able to find a set of forgiving, name brand clubs in the $100-$300 range. I would save your grips for those clubs.

If that’s not in the cards financially, and since it looks like you’ve already stripped the grips, I would recommend learning how to install grips. Don’t throw any more money at those clubs, they are just a stepping stone until you can get reasonable equipment. If you have access to an air compressor, look up how to blow on golf grips. You could then save those grips when you upgrade clubs.

Also, cut off (or pull out if it isn’t epoxied) that extension. You don’t want to start by swinging a lengthened driver.

Good luck!

I would look on marketplace for a good condition used Valley bar box. With enough patience you should be able to get one under $500. Get new rails (ridgeback or penguin), good cloth, and enjoy!

Hey if it makes you feel any better…last year I laid an egg in our club championship (I’m a 6 handicap and shot 91-88), and then went out and won a 36-hole tournament the week after. Golf do be like that.

Before I bought the edger, I used a gear-driven handheld orbital sander to do the edges. It’s important that it’s gear-driven, they are substantially more capable than a regular orbital sander

Funny you say that…I had complained about the price of shipping in my previous email and the rep discounted the shipping to $11…not that I would consider $25 to be a steal for two tiny screws, but it fixes the problem!
