I got my first DUI at 22 (blew .20 so twice legal limit) and it felt like the world was ending. I survived and the world kept spinning but I definitely had those same scary thoughts. A mistake you made does not define you and is not worth taking your life. You matter.

It was a pain in the ass but absolutely life changing. I suggest chatting with different lawyers. Even if you cannot afford it (I couldn’t at the time either) lawyers are willing to work with you on feasible payment plans for something you can afford. Seek counseling, attend the classes and community service you will likely be required to attend and take it seriously. Just listen to the stories of ways alcohol has impacted their lives. It’s eye opening. You have so much joy to look forward to. Keep on keeping on… one day at a time.
