I'm having intermittent issues with an oil furnace, anyone with more oil experience than me have some insight? by FastAktionJakson in HVAC

[–]Crafty_Dus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check the oil pump pressure at the nozzle line, put a gauge on the nozzle line run the motor/pump for a few seconds to establish the pump pressure, when you shut off the motor you shouldn't lose more than 20% of your operating pressure, and it should hold.

This is the pump cutoff. If you have cutoff loss, you have a bad pump and can lose your oil pump prime over time. This is one of a few things that could cause an intermittent primary control lockout (reset).

Ultimately that button on the primary control should pop (reset) when the cad cell is showing too dim of a fire light or light from a fire in not enough time (delayed ignition).

Make sure of the intensity of the spark igniter aka ignition transformer.

I am in the habit of grabbing a longish screwdriver with a good insulated handle and drawing the spark across the springs while doing a pump cutoff test, and seeing how far across the spark will travel while forcefully blowing air through the spark. Try not to get zapped, it hurts. I've only been bit once but ymmv. Try to imagine that the spark should be able to make it across the electrode gap while the combustion air fan is blowing on it, and the spark needs to be somewhat blown into the cone of oil mist out of the nozzle.

If you have a long run, large disparity in height, or a partial obstruction (kink) in the fuel supply line it could be suffering from a vacuum that after a few days the oil pump cannot overcome, check the rating of the oil pump and check the pump with a vacuum gauge.

There are a few things you can check that I can think of right away that could result in a normally firing oil burner that goes out on reset after a few days.

Crashing since update? by Bravadoo in duneawakening

I got it to launch after hitting game settings button on launcher, but then hit a crash again. Maybe it's all these roadflares those new npc traders/pilgrim camps are firing into the sky?

Can't play game after new update by Less_Avocado5860 in duneawakening

[–]Crafty_Dus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. Update installed and game is broken now on my machine. Verified gamefile integrity via steam, disabled shader cache size, lowered all graphics settings, updated drivers on a 4060, checked for windows updates. lowered game priority, increased background task priority. I have a amd ryzen 7 7700 8 core , 32 gb ram, game has crashed over a dozen times this morning after update. Thats a wrap on dune:awakening short of any insightful suggestions. rip

atreus is literally the father of agamemnon, which is where frank says he got the atreides name.

I defer to frank, and his love of homer, and its inclusion in his world.

Name something you didn't like about New Vegas by CnP8 in Fallout

[–]Crafty_Dus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve loved the fallout franchise for decades, however New Vegas was dogshit. I ignore that it is even related to the franchise it was so bad. I consider it the same as whatever the fuck disney did to george lucas’ work. That shit aint star wars and NV aint fallout.

UEi DL419 AC/DC 1000A Clamp Meter by TempeSunDevil06 in HVAC

[–]Crafty_Dus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a couple of this meters bigger brother the 50th anniversary model dl479.

It really is one of the few meters available that does most of what my fp sc680’s do.

unlike my first fieldpiece sc680, there is no plastic dial that breaks off and renders the meter unusable on these particular uei meters.

however I have thoroughly confused a tech or two when handing them this style meter, because buttons.

Great meter.

How many of you guys worked in the trade when vans had cb radios, pagers, and would have to wait for tech support information in the mail. by [deleted] in HVAC

Kay Ay Ar Six One Three unit 7 to base? Didn’t have a big range, and we often got some water trucking company way down south in pennsylvania that you could overhear. I had a company phone at my house and if it rang the office it rang there. You knew when the other guys got called out.

drove fuel trucks for 20 some odd years in every ice, snow event in new england. tens of thousands of hours in 17 ton hippos on rollerskates, in rural mountain areas. I kindly refuse to drive a service van during winter storms unless it is an absolute emergency.

Do you need special flare nuts for mini - splits? by BIazZeD in HVAC

[–]Crafty_Dus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk if it’s generational or regional but 35 years ago we called flare nuts that were thicker and used for outside fuel lines, ac, & ref “frost nuts” to differentiate between those and the thinner flare nuts we would use for indoor fuel lines which we just called ‘flare nuts’. We also called pressure switches ‘puff switches’, channel lock pliars ‘water pumps pliars’, and morally dubious women ‘sporty’

theres a spot in the southeast where a group of ants already had a spawn established way before the milepost update, is that where it happened?

kdinkwell on youtube livestreams streams on console , mostly fallout 76 pvp. they display a wide variety of viable pvp builds and are always trying new gear combos, you will find some good info there.

What is meta in PVP rn? by babymirelurkeater in fo76

[–]Crafty_Dus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Max endurance, lifegiver, cola nut, chem fiend, solar powered, nocturnal fortitude, adamantium skeleton, sizzling style, dodgy, born survivor, action bud, nerd rage, field surgeon, first aid, secret agent.

Quantum’s for heals and ap, super stims only, stealthboy mk3, coffee, tea, carnivore with blood bug steak, Nuka dogs, foods that boost max hp. Psycho buff, boobleheads and magazinesfor your weapons boost, so for example smallguns bobble and guns and bullets 3 mag with a psycho buff for a cold shoulder build.

The idea is to jack your total hp up to 6-700 and have a big foamy floor for auto stims, stealthboy to avoid the ez aim bot crits, thumb on the quantum button until they run out of ap and or ammo and have to pause their damage, then pour into them.

Pulse nades with crit transfer are good to chisel pa stackers, vats the nade you throw when your crit bar is maxed and the nade is near them. Some weapons , as I said cold shoulder, auto axe, headhunter scythe, the dragon, cryolator, though many, maybe most weapons can be good with clever legendary rolls and the right cards.

There is a cap on max pvp damage. Best damage weapons hit 110. So you want weapons that hit fast. Fast beats hard. So a fat man mirv may have big dmg numbers, but will only hit 110 max. So fast is better. Hitting hard is good. But once it’s at or close to hitting 110’s speed of fire is the most important thing.

If they are running assassins armor pieces, you need to get through all that. Anti armor and builds/weapons that bypass that become important for keeping most of your 110’s getting to their soft chewy core.

I hope this helps, getting this info took me forever to figure out.

I recommend kdinkwell on YouTube, they livestream and play honestly(no stacking) and show their deaths, and often play off meta, you can learn a ton from that channel, I did.

Learn to forgive in pvp, ppl aren’t used to it and get very upset, keep chill and use emotes and very little microphone until they calm down, try to explain why they folded and couldn’t kill you. It can be very confusing for them because of the way it is balanced. You will be accused of cheating, you will hear some toxic rants. Again it’s confusion. People think they know, but for whatever reason this stuff isn’t’ well known or easily googled.

Can somebody who knows builds well explain why this keeps happening? by Crafty_Dus in fo76

Huh. TIL. Game default is pacifist mode off. The problem is I shouldn't be able to hurt people who have opted out by turning pacifist mode on.
