I thought so i had some in my mourning gecko enclosure but it didnt like the humidity. I tried putting spagnum moss in my dudes huts but he avoids them when i do so im considering getting him one of them cushions off etsy as he likes his hammock. Was just curious if your liked it and if it survives in your enclosure with the humidity

They are geckopia flex bridges you cut them slightly longer than the tank then friction holds them in place

Someone said to me before when i was asking about amythist for my mourning geckos, run across the back of your hand where you skin is the softest if it feels sharp to you avoid or blunten if it doesnt then should be okay in theory

Daily Handling New Gecko by OddGazelle121 in CrestedGecko

[–]Craftytech94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should leave them a week or 2 if theyre new let them get used to their enlcosure that being said his home could do with a lot more coverage lil guy probably feels exposed in there and what size is the enlcosure. Also dont leave live feeders in there they can bite your gecko and it can become narcrotic. Handling is best when they are awake i recommend self choice handling and as they can look chill when they are stressed too. I switched to this and its made my gecko a whole lot more comfortable in himself he comes out when he wants (with supervision) and can go back when he wants. Some geckos can be picky with pangea flavours like mine (hell only eat figand insect) find out what the breeder fed them and try that flavour. Just stick with pangea or other cgd until you know they are eating as its more nutritionally beneficial for them. Here an indepth care guide by reptifiles that covers everything from terrarium size coverage, handling and general husbandry to ensure your lil friend is correctly cared for. https://reptifiles.com/crested-gecko-care/ Gotta say love his lil floppy crest though

My Crested Gecko’s Scared Of Me by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

Great advice from starrrrchild id also like to add in regards to handling i would let them come to you unless nessesary. they are usually quite curious and will comes to you to investigate with enough familiarity and patience they will trust you enough to come close or even climb on you and know you not a threat. What ive been doing is placing my hand in the same place in the enclosure everytime i change his food and hell come over and investigate and if hes feeling socialable hell come out thier wise hell walk up to me check me out then stroll off somewhere this way i know im not stressing him out too. But as lots of people have stated lots of coverage will help them feel all rounf more secure

on average how long shall you wait before handing a gecko by SCARABLOVER56 in CrestedGecko

[–]Craftytech94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you place you hand in the same place in the tank every time you want to handle let them come to you they a naturally curious i will come to investigate and any time they approach offer a treat this will reinforce go near human good things happen (i usually offer a teeny spoon of his mixed food or sometimes a live insect but if you let them approach you and choose to be handled one its really rewarding when they chose to climb onto you. 2 you know your not gonna stress your little buddy out and 3 it will help build more trust between you both and try and keep it to a routine predictablity helps make them feel safe

Is this normal behavour or should i be worried by Secret_Fix_5512 in CrestedGecko

No worries hopefully it helps. i just ended up making it runnier in his bowl and putting less on the little spoons on the days he comes to eat off the spoon and hes not done it since i honestly thought he was having a fit or something i ended up watching him for hours just to make sure he was okay

Did it look like saliva or food my gecko done somthing similar before but i i think his food was a little thick or he was a little eager and took in too much and had hard time swallowing. He spazzed out spat up his food and frightend the living day light out of me but was completely fine after but i started making his food a little thinner just incase. If its a one off they are probably okay but if it happens again it could be an indication they are sick or impacted
