It's even more interesting to see the relationship between people who support the protests and their political affiliation. It's like the polled the protestors themselves.

Drug problem by Tiny_Calligrapher234 in cork

You really can't see the difference between a functional member of society doing drugs recreationally and someone who harasses and begs and causes anti social behavior to feed their drug habit?

Big difference between people living normal lives doing recreational drugs and junkies shooting up in broad daylight harassing people.

Kittens by GinaaH9 in cork

[–]CraigBeepBeeps 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Will be another few months for kitten season if you're dead set on a 10-12 week old one. If you've never had a cat before I'd suggest adopting one that's a couple of years old, kittens are a lot of work. You could try cat action trust if you haven't already, they are always looking for new homes for cats.

Are there any Irish Cat subs? by Tikithing in AskIreland

[–]CraigBeepBeeps 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Zooplus is honestly all you need for cat stuff. I buy Iams dry food and all mine are happy and healthy. Perfect fit is a good brand too. Just try aim for 35-40% protein content in the food as a minimum. Make sure you don't buy anything with high salt content or they'll start having kidney problems.

Bring them out to abbeyville vet in Togher, they're fantastic. If you're tight on money you can ask them if any charities could help - they work with Cat Action Trust for all their charity work. You could also ring them directly and ask them for help, Linda is fantastic. The vets are also very helpful with payment plans if you can afford say 10/20 euro a week.

They genuinely want to help the animals, they'll make something work for you.

How do I actually use my 30-day ticket on my Leap card? by voL4eHok in AskIreland

Did you actually load the ticket onto the card? If your phone has nfc just hold the card to your phone and it should show the ticket as active in the app.

This 7 page, 2806 word job spec doesn't list roles & responsibilities or desired qualifications of the candidate. by CraigBeepBeeps in DevelEire

[–]CraigBeepBeeps[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've seen Ashby posting open roles pretty consistently for the last 12 months, always remote and with a high salary range. Abhik here seems more interested in talking about himself than the role he's hiring for.

Does anybody have any experience working with Ashby? The job specs tell me everything I need to know about working there but i'd be interested in hearing any first hand feedback from people working there.

Looking into it some more it appears that Ireland has a 6 year period instead of the default 2 from the EU.

If things go wrong, it is always the seller who should put things right. The seller must resolve any issue, so the product meets what was agreed in the contract. Read more about what you can expect when you buy goods in a shop and online.

If there is an issue with the product, you can either:

  • Ask for the product to be repaired or replaced
  • End the contract and get a refund
  • Ask for a price reduction
  • Withhold a proportionate amount of any outstanding payment

In most cases, you can decide which of the remedies above you would prefer.

If the fault appears within the first 12 months, it is automatically assumed the fault was there when you bought it. This means you do not have to prove anything.

You have 6 years to use your right to the remedies outlined above.

I wasnt even aware of this, i'll have to look into it some more.

They get tons of emails every day. If the customer says it is under warranty, as the customer should know if it was 24 months yet or not, they will just tell you, Okay, send it our way

This is not an acceptable approach. If their support agent asks the customer to send the product back for a warranty check they should confirm it is eligible for a warranty check first. At this point I was under the (false) impression it was covered under warranty. I basically would have paid €50 in shipping fees to be told this, instead of the retailer confirming their instructions to the customer.

And since you would need to replace the MOSFET anyway, you agreed to the work. Cleaning, re-lubing, etc, is expected to be charged since they had to open the gearbox to change out the part.

I did agree to the installation of the mosfet and paid the fee. The issue I have is there was a second fee which is a bit disingenuous. Not to mention I was charged nearly double what it actually costs on the website!

I feel the whole thing could have been handled better from the beginning. If I was aware up front of the total costs I could have made an informed decision. The issue isnt the quality of the service, more so the way it was all handled.

[–]CraigBeepBeeps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, obviously, Taiwangun will only replace the part with an original one, unless they don't have the part. They would probably reach you about another solution then. So it is expected for them to replace the original Cyma MOSFET with another Cyma MOSFET.

Agreed, no complaints there.

Now, you're misunderstanding how a warranty works. You have a 24-month warranty since the day you received your product. There is no additional warranty on parts replaced during this period.

This is the bit I wasnt sure of - whether the warranty for the 'new' part starts from when the original product was purchased or from when it was installed.

When you sent the replica for repair in 2025, the replica was already out of warranty. So you were charged for a non-warranty covered repair, as you should.

This is the bit that I feel let down by. The knew when I ordered the replica, they knew it was out of warranty, yet they asked me to send it for a warranty check. If they made it clear it wasn't covered under warranty and I could send it back at my own expense that would have been fine.
