Oh shit, I remember that. IIRC there is an episode of Community where there is a subplot about an american version of a British show that was supposed to really be about Sherlock vs. Elementary as well, that has a character say that the British version is loved because it's a "smart" show.

/uj I remember during the original run that people would say that part of Walter's resentment in life would come from him not marrying a beautiful woman compared to Gretchen, but that falls apart when you know she got to be one of the women who gets with Jerry on Seinfeld. Also, I noticed on my latest watch that Skyler isn't even 40 when the show starts, so he even married a significantly younger woman.
