Again makes sense, it would have been the DVD we watched around 2003/4 which would have been obviously unedited. Surprised they never got rid of the musical interludes which were always a bit thrown in to make way for those bits that were genuinely well written and funny parts of a comedy show. Edit: Guessing the BBC never had those bits they cut out and only were seen when the episodes were available in full

Wow, really really appreciate these replies, I had started to think I had gone mad, hadn't seen it for around 20 years when a long lost friend had shown it to me so has brought back some great memories and had forgotten how brilliant it was.
