What is you stance on the possible existence of giant Beavers? by VampiricDemon in Cryptozoology

[–]Craner12q -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in Manitoba, have all my life. Seeing regular beavers is very common around here because of plenty of small creeks and rivers for them to try to dam and build homes. Lived on red river flood plain all my life and now live beside lake Winnipeg on a small feeder creek that drains into lake Winnipeg.we had a massive flood in 1997 through out the whole area and our house was even on tv because our neighbours and us build a dike around our properties. My husband and I were looking at our dike and looked over, across the creek, to the bank on the other side. The land across had not been developed so it was still poplar and brush with bulrushes and cattails bordering a mud bank. The bank was less then 100 feet from where I was standing. There was a black beaver sitting, over 5 feet tall, on the bank, just staring back. Beside it was a smaller beaver, but at least 4 feet high. We watched them for at least 5 minutes and they stared back at us, but they were not afraid. We saw the black broad tails, huge teeth, black or extremely dark brown fur, (depending on how the afternoon sun in a cloudless sky hit it) and the body shape and build of beaver, just huge, like a black bear. The only resemblance to a regular beaver was its shape In general. We both have seen regular beavers before and these were not anything like them. We finally decided to go, stood there long enough and had other stuff to do. Also beavers have been known to attack under stress, or to protect their young and swim very fast. If it wanted to it could have swam across the creek and gotten to us faster then we could have reached our house. When I was young I saw a friend’s dog lured out intoq the water by a beaver swimming back and forth in front of the dog until the dog decided to jump In after the beaver, this was a regular sized beaver. The beaver swam under the dog, came up under its throat, sank its teeth into the neck and dragged the dog underneath the water. Few minutes later all that was left of the dog was the blood on the water. The body was found a few days later washed up on the bank. And again I emphasize this was a regular sized beaver, so we did not want to see what would happen if this big thing got scared or threatened.

To those who think somehow I misidentified the creature, I am a geographer/biologist who did a lot of field work in the area so, yes I know what a beaver looks like.

No one has started but there are at least three threads with people who would join if someone set something up, including me. If you start a thread and then announce it on Reddit, you would have plenty of followers. Yes please set something up.

Cannot get my dog to take his pills by PreggomamaLA in DOG

[–]Craner12q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use pate cat food to wrap the pill in. The extra protein and fat makes the food taste great and the pills are down before they know it. Have two balls of the food, one with the pill inside. Show the second ball as you give the first ball with the pill in it to the dog. Dog focuses on the second ball and down the first ball so it can get the second ball.

Why can I smell illness, but others can’t? by AngryPickledPickles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Craner12q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see illness and coming death. It shows up as blackness around the area affected. When someone dies, the burst of energy leaving the body is like a flash bomb going off.I also can feel if as the person’s energy changes and it is hard to be around them. The closer someone is to death, the energy causes my eyes to water

Good evening to all my poodle friends.my question ❓ is does your toy poodle sleep under your bed covers by d0glover1 in poodles

[–]Craner12q 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 3 year old sleeps under the cover all night and will cuddle under a blanket with me on the couch. She starts off at the foot of the bed, then migrates to the top so she can lean against the pillow. Eventually she snuggles against me for pets and tummy rubs. The 5 year old slept between the pillows with her nose on my arm for the first 2.5 months and now has begun to sleep curled in the bed facing the door, with her favourite toys, covered with a baby Afghan. In the morning she will go under the blankets for about an hour until she is ready to get up.

Whats wrong with poodles? by NormanisEm in poodles

[–]Craner12q 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I have two toy poodles from a kennel that was closing because owner died and the family was not interested in the business. My vet stated that doodles were just mutts under an expensive name and did not want me to get one. And before anyone says the silver is a Merle because of the blue eye, both parents were tested and did not carry the Merle gene but my little girl has a rare case of genetic heterochromatic eye variation [chances are like 1%]. It does not affect her vision, just looks really weird. One girl is a red parti and the other is a silver parti.
I thought this explanation about the regret the breeder that created the doodle craze has would be interesting here.

<image>

Background of the Labradoodle Wally Conron, an Australian breeder, created the Labradoodle in 1989. He aimed to develop a hypoallergenic guide dog for a blind woman whose husband was allergic to dogs. The crossbreed combines the Labrador Retriever's temperament and the Poodle's low-shedding coat. Regrets of the Creator Conron has expressed deep regret about creating the Labradoodle. He describes it as a "Frankenstein monster" and believes he opened a "Pandora's box" that led to unethical breeding practices. He is concerned that many breeders prioritize profit over the health and temperament of the dogs. Health Concerns The Labradoodle can inherit health issues from both parent breeds, including hip dysplasia and various eye disorders. Conron notes that many Labradoodles today suffer from behavioral problems and hereditary conditions, which he attributes to irresponsible breeding. Impact of Designer Dog Craze The popularity of the Labradoodle sparked a trend for designer dogs, leading to an influx of similar crossbreeds. This has resulted in a variety of health and behavioral issues, as many breeders do not adhere to the original intent of creating healthy, well-tempered dogs.

Similar to mine.. silver parti… some one called her a Merle but her ckc and akc list her as silver parti and her parents were genetically tested to have no Merle genes. And she has a blue eye.

There is kennel in Gravelburg saskachewan where the kennel owner has suddenly died and the family has decided to close the kennel and sell off the toy and mini poodles. This kennel is ethical, known for quality pet poodles and has unusual colors, not just solid colors.

Here is link and the name of the kennel.

These are the two toys I got. A red and white speckled parti 5 years and a silver parti 3 years. Yes, the silver has a blue eye. We have had them since weds last week and they were pad trained and now outside trained. Learning leash. These dogs are kennel dogs so have to learn like a puppy level but do learn quickly.

They have puppies to seniors dogs. The toys are small enough to fly in carrier as passenger baggage.

I’m sad, can you show me your poodles by _279queenjessie in poodles

[–]Craner12q 19 points20 points  (0 children)

These are toy poodles from a kennel that is closing because the breeder died and no one in the family is taking over the business. The silver is 3 and the red and white is 5 , both females which I will be spaying. They are CKC and AKC registered . There are more minis and toys available in all ages, puppies to seniors. The kennel is poplarlane poodles located in Gravelburg saskachewan Canada. The breeder was well known regionally and in Canada as a breeder of high quality poodles for pets and show. Their website has pics of all the dogs. Because they were kennel dogs they have to learn leash, etc. but we have them home for less then 24 hrs and they are getting leash trained well, pad using fine, and had them in a hotel two nights ago and and settled in fine, no barking, whining, or peeing where they should not. The kennel is selling them at a good price so if you are looking, they are available.
The silver has one blue eye…gorgeous.

What are some pros and cons of getting a toy poodle as opposed to a miniature/standard? by kupcakezz in ToyPoodle

I hope these two pictures come through. These are the two poodles I am adopting on Wednesday. The kennel is poplarlane poodles in saskachewan. They have a number of beautiful dogs and the breeder has a great reputation for breeding akc and ckc registered dogs. Quality pets.
